| 11146 | Dark Places | games | 6456 | Dark Places | I couldn't get glQuake working, and the quakeforge website wasn't responding so I went looking for other ports like this. DarkPlaces is fast, pretty and the sticky blood is a nice(nasty!) feature. | 2003-05-08 11:43:40 | 0 |
| 11147 | Dark Places | games | -1 | COOL | Transfusion is based on this engine. Cool to see some improvements... | 2003-05-08 12:00:05 | 0 |
| 11149 | Dark Places | games | 7857 | error on start | when I run darkplaces-glx I get this error: Error: UDP_OpenSocket: Unable to bind to 198.168.0.107:0 Wierd thing is that 198.168.0.107 isn't my ip-adress. | 2003-05-08 13:03:08 | 0 |

| 11152 | ThinkTanks | games | 7938 | thinktank | this game is pretty cool, although it is not for me. I think that it should be distributed for children and early teens. Graphics are good, and the play on-line is a bit slow, that may be my connection to the server. I don't think my internet connection is bad, I play Enemy Territory w/o jumpiness that I found with this game. Regardless this should be made availible to linux. | 2003-05-08 20:26:23 | 0 |
| 11153 | Dark Places | games | -1 | Re: Windows | OK, I haven't played around with Quake or modified versions of it's engine for years, but even if I'm a bit rusty I hope this helps you out.
First, make sure you have a video card capable of GL. You probably do, but stranger things have happened.
Download the current engine zip from here and extract the files to a new directory (which i'll refer to as NEWQUAKEDIR, although you can call it "sausages" if you really want).
Copy the pak files from a previous Quake installation to NEWQUAKEDIR\id1\ (iirc, i might be wrong. if this doesn't work, copy them to NEWQUAKEDIR\progs\). If you don't have the full version of Quake, you can download the shareware version from here, and hopefully it will work.
If it complains about progs.dat, you may have to copy that file to NEWQUAKEDIR\progs\ (again from your old quake installation)
Hope this helps, although the README probably explains it better. | 2003-05-08 20:59:52 | 11150 |

| 11155 | Racer | games | -1 | Re: Racer | 1). Firstly, a big thank you to Ruud!
2). I am personally excited to hear about there being two versions. People really don't mind paying for commercial software if it's top notch. When is the commercial version to be expected to be released?
3). Another thank you to Ruud! | 2003-05-08 22:03:20 | 11144 |
