| 11075 | Small Precludes | games | -1 | BORING! | I can't believe people like this stuff - it's all really trivial stuff - nothing pushes the envelope in any way. "Those who can - do. Those who can't - make demos." | 2003-05-05 13:53:53 | 0 |
| 11076 | Quiet Console Town | games | -1 | Re: Hmmm | It's just that some people get so wrapped up in this "Open source vs the World" idea, that they shit on the authors, with or without realizing it.

I just wanted to make it clear to the author of this project that not everyone expects him to produce the next big game. Not everyone expects his work to be perfect immediately. Not everyone even expects his work.. If he makes a nice game while having fun, and it is fun for us to play, then we will be happy and appreciative. :)

This isn't necessarily directed at you, and if you didn't mean to be rude then I apologize to you. | 2003-05-05 14:12:18 | 11042 |
| 11077 | Racer | games | -1 | Wrong! | You have got it wrong. While agree with much of what you said, you have misread the situation. If it were that simple a situation, then people would just accept racer as being closed source - and there would be no complaint.

However, this game is deceptively trying to masquerade as "open source" and "free" software when it is clearly not "free" (as in GPL or similar license). That is the objection. If you look at the top of the page you will also see the phrase "License: free".

If the author clearly redefines his license in an unambiguous way, then people could accept this. Currently the game is "free" as in "Free Beer", which doesn't qualify as "License: free". Maybe he should say "freeware". | 2003-05-05 14:12:24 | 11064 |
