Anyway, the Open Source drivers for ATI cards seem to be quite sufficient and good if you only run apps like Torcs, FlightGear, ZSNES, etc. that do not take advantage of all the features in OpenGL. Think of all the people using commercial games, they even have to pay for it and nobody of them complains about "it's not free", bla bla... Also on commercial games there are fan communities which provide mods, levels, tracks, whatever.
