There are no shortage of people like him around, ready to insult anyone and everyone.</i> <p> Wow, beautiful self-referential irony. <p> <i>Your game looks like it's going to be quite interesting, and as soon as I get pygame installed I'm going to give it a go.</i> <p> I'd suggest trying things BEFORE you opine on them. You tend to get better results that way round. <p> Cheers, Daniel | 2003-05-03 15:40:44 | 10999 |
Quiet Console Town | games | -1 | Re: Hmmm | <i>- A lot of the upgrades (plot point, etc) seem very generic. It would really rock if you could (a) pick names for them (Stolen Family Treasure, Damsel in Distress, Giant Rat Infestation, whatever),</i> <p> I should maybe be clear that I was thinking that the game would randomly pick a name for a particular quest (or whatever), rather than the player choosing the name. In Majesty, for instance (if you haven't played the demo you should, if only to cherry-pick good ideas -- I meant what I said earlier :) ), heroes all have titles like "Bran of the Bloody Blade" (warrior) or "Saraman, Lord of Wisdom" (wizard). These are chosen randomly when the hero is created. It's a small thing, but a very nice touch that lends the game a lot of atmosphere. (hm, hero titles would be cool too) <p> Daniel | 2003-05-03 15:44:33 | 11001

Quiet Console Town | games | -1 | Java | Now I know this isn't going to happen, but personally, I'd like to see this game redone in Java. Among other things, that would certainly alleviate the author's problem of things being statically checked. | 2003-05-03 17:27:34 | 0

Quiet Console Town | games | -1 | Re: Hmmm | No, you don't get it.<BR><BR> You were a total ass to that guy. <BR> I wouldn't care if his game did suck, I'm not going to bash him in an open forum about it. It's not difficult to suggest changes to his game in a nice way, but the way you went about it was totally rude.<BR><BR> <I>the poor guy is desperately in need of competent artists, and the game is a real eyesore. </I> <BR><BR> Yeah, way to be helpful and constructive. Out of curiosity, where is this amazing game that you have created? | 2003-05-03 20:31:55 | 11002

TORCS | games | -1 | To dark | The game is too dark - I must put monitor's bright to 100% while normal bright is 50%. Can you add gamma correction ? And why tire traces disappears ? | 2003-05-04 01:01:33 | 0
Devastation | games | 6457 | playing eminem | I am not rating port, I am rating game. In Devastation you are playing character similiar to Eminem. At start you are being aggresive to woman, then you run and listen to primitive disco music. To me it's worse than playing Britney Spears or Marylin Manson. I can't believe people are making such kind of games. What happen with games like Doom or Duke Nukem? Games like Dungeon Keeper, Tropico and even GTA weren't so bad like new ones (heard about Postal2?). It's good I can always run atari800 emulator and forget about all that new crap. At least 4 channel music on Atari is better than actual hits on SB Live. | 2003-05-04 02:13:18 | 0
