| 10849 | GPL Arcade Volleyball | games | -1 | Re: themes | What platform are you running the game on? If the themes are installed properly, you can select them by choosing the "extra" entry, followed by "themes". Then select the themes. Do you only have "classic" under "themes"? | 2003-04-29 04:07:01 | 10769 |

| 10851 | Eternal Lands | games | -1 | Re: Eternal Lands | ahh okay... so there will eventually be a class of those who can afford cool weapons, houses clans and those (like me) who are poor and can never get better than those who have money...

how good your character is in a game shouldn't be determined by how much money you give.
however when i look at it from your perspective, you've got to make money somehow and at least the game will still be "free" in a sense.

What i suggest is that you don't give extra weapons and armour etc.. for ppl who donate. Houses, clans, fancy looking clothes Yes, but pls don't give an unfair advantage to those who donate. It's up to you in the end :/ | 2003-04-29 04:16:59 | 10838 |
| 10852 | NVIDIA Linux Display Driver | games | -1 | "License: free" ??? | I mean come on, NVidia gives you proprietary drivers. What happens when they decide to drop Linux support? What happens when they don't want to support your old Geforce anymore? Please support Free Software/Open Source community and its efforts by refusing to buy NVidia card! | 2003-04-29 04:40:26 | 0 |
| 10853 | Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory | games | -1 | Runs great here | Hi! Love this free game, hope it will stay free and shiped with every Linux distro :) I use Linux 2.4.20, XFree86-4.3, Voodoo 3500 (16MB RAM), 512MB RAM, 1.2 GHz Athlon Thunderbird. My glxgears demo gives me this: 8023 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1604.600 FPS Wondering how much it does with a Geforce 4 128 MB RAM. later. | 2003-04-29 06:28:36 | 0 |
| 10854 | NVIDIA Linux Display Driver | games | -1 | Re: "License: free" ??? | I'm pretty sure that I didn't pay anything (extra) for the drivers, so they're free in my book. The development cost is even effectively being footed by the movie sfx industry.... | 2003-04-29 07:12:43 | 10852 |

| 10857 | 3655 | news | -1 | Re: propaganda | Not sure why all the fuss over a game...but HERE IS MY TWO CENTS!!!! - GEMINI I am an AMERICAN and damn proud of it. I love the USA. Not because of governmental policy or politics, but because I am the fruit of this land. I respect all of your views, regardless if I believe in the same or not. However, I do believe that when one must protect the innocent or thoughs who cannot protect themselves... which brings up a story: When I was young there was a young kid who was always getting picked on. I tought him to fight to protect himself. He went on to be the BULLY picking on the other kids. We fought, he won. Not letting my pride down, I picked a fight with him the next day, I kicked the wholy living sh** out of him. He never touched another kid while I attending school with him. Do to GOVERNMENTAL policy at the time, yes we supplied Saddam money (for IRAQ was being "picked on") and even trained some of their troops. He became a tyrant, and we just went in and cleaned up our mess. 12 years after we should of, but we finaly cleaned up our mess. Yes, civilian casualties will always be there. Yes, friendly fire is not that friendly. However, any uprising by his own people or different in views would get you killed, sometimes by the thousands. I am an AMERICAN. I have the right to disagree with the governmental, my peers, and my other AMERICANS, and nothing will happen to my family or I if I do...it is my right given to me by birth here in the USA I have lived in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and CZECH republic; I have seen other points of views and believes. I know the world may hate me and my children because I am an AMERICAN. I was shot at when I was younger because I am an AMERICAN when we responded to lebenon...I have had my friends die in front of me. But I will still defend this country, my heartland, from thoughs who will act out their hate... Once person posted that we are foolish enough to think we should only have nukes (paraphrase), and here is my response. In time and time again in the past certain countries and governmental entities have used WMD or even generic weapons to enslave their people and use fear to spread their power. I have NEVER seen or heard of the US using weapons just to use them. We temper our might with judgement. If not, the AMERICAN people will remove the MAN OF POWER (the president) and any who supports their view. The world seen AMERICAN demonstrating against the war; well the national and local polls (even high school newspaper polls) showed the majority supported the WAR effort, though the MEDIA played it the other way. Also if you are going to ban things because they come from the US or was invented in the US start by banning NUKES all together. Ban airplanes, automobiles, reformulated gasoline, fuel oil, industry in general, etc. The list can go on and on. GERMAN are smart and invented alot of things, but just because of WWII does not mean I am going to ban everything german. It is foolish and ignorent to think that is going to change anything. This is my rant...sometimes cohernet sometimes not. But I am an AMERICAN and i have the right to be patriotic, self-opinionated, and even wrong on things and right on others. Just because you may be NOT an American, may be Muslim, Jewish, German, Russian, Christian, Pagan, etc. I do not hate you and I am open to your opinions and beliefs. But if you come to the US and try to hurt my land and my kids and family, I will take my PATRIOTIC AMERICAN boot and kick you right in the *SS. We are a super power. The only true super power. Because of that many of you hate us. Not because of jealousy. Not because of you want to be like us. But because we are different, and vice versa. IGNORENCE is the root of all hatred and violence. You do not know what is like to be an American. We do not know what it is like to be you. ONLY IGNORENT people hate and fear what they do not know or understand. Yet it is human nature.... | 2003-04-29 07:30:16 | 10699 |
| 10858 | SDL_Paradroid | games | 7784 | A Sense of Mystery | This has the aura of a game that will periodically call me back to play.. some sort of psychological gravity. I think the key to that is the limited information that you are given in the game. There's just enough instruction to tell you what you're supposed to do, and sort of how.. but enough left unknown to make it sort of flying by the seat of your pants.. Especially the control negotiation.
I never played the original, but I presume this is a faithful recreation of a classic masterpiece. Graphics: simple yet smooth. Gameplay: a perfect blend of reflexes and strategy.
Only a couple of things bothered me. First, where's the sound? Second, the game seems to segfault after a few rounds. Neither of these was horrible enough to detract from its 5* rating. | 2003-04-29 07:31:03 | 0 |
