10829 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games -1 Hmm I certainly hope happypenguin isn't going to post every time nvidia releases a new driver. We'd have pages and pages of just nvidia news! 2003-04-28 18:19:35 0
10830 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games -1 Re: Hmm Nvidia doesn't release Linux drivers often. Even in Windows land, like 90% of Windows drivers are 'leaked' and unofficial drivers. Let's just be appreciative that Nvidia DOES support Linux =) 2003-04-28 18:40:39 10829
10831 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory games -1 Re: What's the catch? well i played it, and it seems you can startup your own dedicated server and play through lans aswell. you dont need to register (although some mirrors might want you to... *curses gamespy*) and it's a pretty even fight as far as germany verses america. the sides are mostly well balanced.

I was wondering the same there, why release independent addon??? Whats in it for ID? well maybe its to get on our goodsides before doom3 is released... who knows but I like it! 2003-04-28 19:09:40 10808
10832 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games -1 I appreciate it These drivers are actually stabilized. The previous revision would inspire my RTCW to spontaneously vanish without error. Very cute. These drivers haven't died on me yet. Been using it for about a week. The new driver installation is quite nice. Nvidia's drivers make all the difference when I buy vid cards. ATI has nice hardware, but they're Canadian gov't workers, and have a real problem with this thing called programming when Microsoft doesn't lead them around by the short and curly's. Too bad too, they have nice hardware. So, Guess who gets the QUAN. Nvidia, good job. 2003-04-28 19:10:14 0
10833 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory games -1 LAG & quake 3 related games For some unknown and stuipid reason I always seem to get hidious lag in games based on the quake 3 engine. Sure when the server is pinged I get 180ping, however when i play the game I continually experience connection loss and everyone's movements are jerky instead of smooth. I thought "how could this be?? quake 3 has better netcode" so I started tweaking my config file, no luck there. changing cl_timenudge & rate made no difference.

In halflife when i play a server that has 300 ping, movements are smooth and players don't jerk. Did ID design this game for broadband?? cause thats really stuipid. I need help! :-( 2003-04-28 19:17:43 0
10834 Eternal Lands games -1 Eternal Lands shame this game will cost money in the future.... they all seem to be after one thing these days... *sigh*

PS: PLEASE DO NOT START AN ARGUMENT OVER THIS POST, IT IS ONLY MY SOLE OPINION.
This includes all anti-gpl people.... yes you know who you are! 2003-04-28 19:22:46 0
10835 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games -1 Re: Hmm i would like an agpdriver working with my nforce2 board and an ati graphic card!! 2003-04-28 20:00:59 10830
10836 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games 7152 Re: Hmm Exactly. NVidia are leading the way. The update tool is a handy feature too. Just hope that TV-out overscanning is sorted oneday. 2003-04-28 20:02:42 10830
10837 NVIDIA Linux Display Driver games 7152 Re: Hmm Ask ATI to provide you with a native Linux H/W accelerated driver for your card. When they say 'no', buy an NVidia agp card, or use the Geforce that is built-into your motherboard if yours has one. 2003-04-28 20:10:38 10835
