PlaneShift | games | -1 | Linux=? | Is there anyone who got this game running on a linux box without Wine or WineX? | 2003-04-21 03:05:56 | 0
Pingus | games | 7152 | Pretty darn good | I <b>apt-get</B>'ed pingus 0.6.0 via from <a href="http://www.debian.org/">Debian</A> sid. It rocks! Before the game initially starts, I found the arrow clicking (twice) to get through text at game overview a pain, and some game sounds are bad. I like the chark drawings and the cartoony wood background. The music and the clap sounds are pretty cool too. Graphics are nice. Although, I'd like to see some use of Anti-aliasing in the future to remove jaggies. <BR><BR>Gameplay is smooth and screen is easy to navigate. I can't wait until more levels are released. But hey guys, it's got a level editor (hint hint). It's been a <B>very long time</B> in coming, but a worthwhile wait. Thanks dude! | 2003-04-21 03:16:56 | 0
PlaneShift | games | 506 | Re: architectures?????? | Aehm, no, its not trivial to compile binaries for all those architectures, especially since its basically a non-documented thing and cross-compiling is an even bigger issue. For somebody who has done that a dozend of times it might be not an big issue, but I would definitivly not call it trivial, after all there is a reason that there are only very few static or mostly static binaries out there. GNU/Linux is pretty much focused on "compile everything yourself/use the binaries for your specific distribution". Well, not even the x86 binary is currently working for many people, due to the need for a glibc-2.3. | 2003-04-21 05:19:22 | 10532

Celestia | games | -1 | Re: slow | The program is not the problem. The piece of junk on your desk is the problem. Unless you're going to invest in today's hardware, don't bother reviewing today's software. | 2003-04-21 17:34:58 | 8533
Pingus | games | 7429 | fantastic!!! | I really love this game! The game runs without any crashes. The editor, however, sometimes halts. Fortunately, backups are made automatically, so no pain. Looking forward to more levels! | 2003-04-21 23:09:00 | 0
