| 10490 | Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | Re: WineX 2.1.1 Full | The people who want to shut Transgaming down because some people don't know about native ports are probably the same people who are crying foul at the record companies for going after the ISPs instead of the people pirating the music.

So, it's ok to attack Transgaming because of what some people might do, but its' not ok for the record companies to attack the ISPs for something their customers might do..

Not very surprising. | 2003-04-18 11:37:36 | 10488 |
| 10491 | Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | Re: Help prevent native ports! | umm, isnt sam lantinga employed over at blizzard? im sure he is an excellent developer in his own right, but it might also happen that blizzard saw his experience with sdl as a pro for hiring him. if blizzard does its 3d in opengl, it should be easy enough for them to make linux ports if they want to, maybe they do? blizzard do not tend to give out info before they are sure about things (except releasedates;P) | 2003-04-18 11:56:52 | 10479 |
| 10492 | Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | Swings and roundabouts | I think that WineX demonstrates that there are swings and roundabouts. It also seems to attract a hell of a lot of messages, when some more worthy releases get little :s I think that people just like to complain :p Vive la native ports. | 2003-04-18 12:02:07 | 0 |
| 10493 | Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | Re: Help prevent native ports! | bah, when transgaming was ripping off wine, wine was using a different license. iirc, everything they did was allowed by the license. Isn't that what caused the wine people to move over to lgpl? (or fork it, or whatever they did?) | 2003-04-18 12:15:51 | 10253 |
| 10494 | VisualBoyAdvance-SDL | games | -1 | Blues Brothers | I think that screen shot looks the Blues Brothers game. It was an ancient game by Titus that appeared on the PC probably 9 years ago. They did Titus the Fox too. Platform efforts. | 2003-04-18 12:33:41 | 0 |
| 10495 | Pingus | games | 5840 | I like it. | Thank you for excellent game.
Thank you for static binary release (I didn't need ClanLib).
Specially thank for Czech translation.
| 2003-04-18 13:52:28 | 0 |
| 10496 | Pingus | games | 7574 | Re: a few questions | It's actually a really good idea not to be able to change direction manually, or when unfreezing a blocker. When making new levels, you can use this limitation to set up traps where one has to "sacrifice" to ward the whole team away. If you could stop and turn all pengi any time, it would be too easy to get everyone home much and would defeat the purpose of making "try to save five" levels. | 2003-04-18 14:40:09 | 10460 |
| 10497 | Pingus | games | 6952 | Re: a few questions | Strange enough that I can change a blocker to a miner e.g.. Let's say that is unique to pingus but I really don't like easier. That's cool this way. If you can't change the direction you mustn't forget to make floaters and lose some pingus. Nice that only one or two little mistakes are allowed. | 10498 | Construo | games | -1 | compare to sodaplay.com | I've had tons of fun with the game/toy, but the only thing missing is the ability to create "muscles" that actually move. Go to sodaplay.com (java applet support required in your browser) and see for yourself. I think construo has a *much* better interface than sodaplay, but sodaplay's ability to create objects that move on their own (far more sophisticated than just setting the velocity) is hard to beat. That would be a great addition to construo. | 2003-04-18 14:50:26 | 0 |
| 10499 | Construo | games | -1 | A tip... | I found the construo.x11 version to be VERY jittery and pretty much unusable until i tried running it niced. Either renice the program (requires root access) or run it niced (like: nice ./construo.x11 >/dev/null &) and the performance actually improves, at least on my system. | 2003-04-18 14:53:44 | 0 |
