Crystal Space | games | -1 | Free Texture / Open Media Archive | A Free (as in speech and beer) texture and media archive has been put up at https://cat2.ath.cx/ftoma for CS etc. gcc-003 and scanline fsck you on ext2. | 2003-04-17 12:13:18 | 0
Crystal Space | games | 6651 | That's it, I'm going to use it! | I have a long weekend ahead of me and a nice spanky new project set up on SourceForge to build a GPL game! Now, a new version of CrystalSpace is out, and I'm gonna do it man! (Cracks knucles like Duke Nukem in Duke3D for Linux)... oh yeah! My project is <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/duffer/">Duffer!</a> which is a an attempt at a GPL computer golf game. Maybe I could make a small golf course in CS and have some golfer looking dude walk around in 3rd person. It would be a start at least. I've messed around with older versions of CS. This might work! | 2003-04-17 14:41:40 | 0
Roll 'm Up | games | 7027 | rollemup mirror download | Since Lost boys seems to have gone down, which means you can't download this game from their website, i found somewhere you can get it http://justin.host.za.net/files/games/Rollemup.tar.gz This probably isn't the only place but if your lazy just copy that url into your web browser. | 2003-04-17 15:17:44 | 0
Pingus | games | 7681 | Downloading Hermes | I have been unable to download Hermes from the clanlib website. The page seems to be broken (at least from my point of view w/ multiple browsers) I was able to download from the cached page at google. The links on that page are working. | 2003-04-17 15:41:23 | 0
BomberClone | games | -1 | Another Bomberman! | It shows how much talent begins in the free software world...lots!<p> I played it with my little bro' and the networking makes the game F-U-N. Other bombermans, some with better graphics, are not as good as this bomberman because this one has the networking fun. The master server is a great idea. Great job dude! 4 stars! **** (I don't have star-power, sorry, but here's a waffle) | 2003-04-17 16:23:25 | 0

Pingus | games | 7574 | Re: Very entertaining project | Thanks :-) You were right, I was only looking at the base install (I had the binary) without investigting what was in my dirs ...and right now, I'm making my own levels. This is so much fun!!! I can't wait to send some in and see if they get included in future releases ;-) Then I will be famous! Mwahahahahaha!!!! | 2003-04-17 22:38:44 | 10433
Crystal Space | games | 6651 | Re: That's it, I'm going to use it! | BTW: I just posted a couple jobs on the SourceForge page. Plus I created fantastic new graphics with Gimp, set up the "Home Page", added a forum, and I compiled the new CrystalSpace. Results are mixed on CS. It fails to run on my Debian Woody+ and Sarge installs in OpenGL mode (gf4mx), but it does work acceptably in software. With an Athlon XP2400+ you can run Mesa in software almost as fast as a Voodoo2 could run in hardware! CrystalSpace runs nice in software and looks great! <p>Ok, the <a href="https://sourceforge.net/projects/duffer/">Duffer!</a> project is well started. Any prospective helpers need to have this version of CS compiled and working from source. I use Debian, but the SF project is upstream, so it is distro-independant and I want the dependencies to be Python and CrystalSpace. This golf game might be a bit slow at first while it is in development, but we will eventually build against hardware with it. The starting source code is of course <tt>walkdemo</tt> but that source could be stripped down to nothing, except you might want to keep it in for the secret bonus level deathmatch rounds and to be able to gnarvel the Garthons in case that they invade. | 2003-04-17 23:50:55 | 10440
Pingus | games | 7574 | Re: Downloading Hermes | Have you tried downloading the binary of pingus? I don't think you need clanlibs to run the bin... only for compiling. | 2003-04-18 00:15:43 | 10442
