| 10303 | Hellcarrier | games | -1 | Hellcarrier | I finally got it to compile...
Here's some help to find those strange liberaries:
I was not able to get DIME to compile on my system, and used ADIME instead (same lib, but they had to change name due to some other program) One thing to notice through is that you need to change "dialogf" to "adime_dialogf" and "ALIGN_CENTER" to "ADIME_ALIGN_CENTER" to get it compile with ADIME
There is no lib called GJMod. It must be a typo. The actual lib is JGMod. | 2003-04-14 07:02:06 | 0 |
| 10304 | TuxMathScrabble | games | -1 | TuxMathScrabble | This screen shot is of the old version! The new version has a new, cleaner, more modern look. Also, the window size has been reduced to 800x600 as suggested in the previous comment. | 2003-04-14 07:44:40 | 0 |
| 10305 | Euchre | games | -1 | Nifty! | Me and my friends played Euchre a _TON_ a couple semesters ago. Does this version support any of the following "house rules" we used to play with?

1. Cheating is allowed if no one calls it on you
2. Drink a shot of liquor if you lose a round
3. Hidden table talk?

-Erwos | 2003-04-14 09:20:26 | 0 |
| 10306 | Zinc | games | -1 | Nice | I can see this being a lot of fun to play with.
Actually, I could see it being more useful for MUDs. Add the collaborative environment, but subtract the "everyone plays on the same client" part, and you could have a very useful tool for organized groups of adventurers.
-Erwos | 2003-04-14 09:26:45 | 0 |
| 10307 | Hellcarrier | games | -1 | Re: Licensing? | This is not a violation of the gpl. The author can release his software under any license he wants. He just happens to not be releasing it under the gpl.

He should not say that he is releasing it under the gpl when he is not though.

He is basicly saying, "The game is gpl, EXCEPT I am adding that you cannot use it commercially." It's not the gpl anymore, but it's his right to license the game under any way he wants. | 2003-04-14 09:34:22 | 10302 |
| 10308 | Abe's Amazing Adventure!! | games | 7139 | Re: Too fast | That's sort of what I did. For fast machines the fps has an upper limit and on slow machines the character takes bigger steps. (It does seem to work.) Thanks for your help! | 2003-04-14 09:38:36 | 10293 |
| 10309 | Racer | games | 7726 | dirt bags.... | Ruud. I really like this game, and personally, I have no issue with it remaining non-GPL'd. While I support the idea of releasing the game as open source, I don't think it is necassary. I think what most Linuxers to realize is that when they attack developers, demanding that their high quality works be made free, they destroy the market for such products. I f you took this product to a publishing house, and people started seeing it on shelves in stores, they would buy it. And you would be a rich man. consider 2 things. 1) you have three native ports for the 3 most popular desktop Operating systems. 2) their is a huge following to your game already. I don't find wanting to payed for hard work greedy. Unless the price is excessive. e.g. no version of windows is worth 200-300 dollars, it's simply not good enough for that price. hence the reason why I use linux. But I will pay for a software application now and then, particularly games. I've discovered that games are usually cheaper on linux, considering that they don't have to pay licensing fee's for M$ libs, and M$ approval. tribes 2 for example was 60 dollars for windows. the linux version $20 (actually I think I got for 10 at ebx), but considering that both ports were realesed same day. Maybe other *nixers should think before they open they're mouth. | 2003-04-14 10:04:28 | 0 |
