10244 D2X games -1 Problem with video resolution It works quite great, for me. I'm not have hw acceleration so, with opengl, is too slow but with SDL it wotks very well. I only have little visualitation problems when I try to change the video resolution from the default 320x200. darko 2003-04-12 05:19:29 0
10245 FreeDoom games 506 Re: A little late I know the facts, what I meant is that the Quake2 Engine is free, thus a FreeQuake2 would probally make more sense and be much more attractive to people than a FreeDoom. The Doom engine is simply pretty much out of date, on embedded devices it might still make sense, but todays PC can do much better and there are much better engines out there (Quake2, CrystalSpace), so basing something on Doom isn't all that good IMHO. 2003-04-12 06:09:37 10240

10250 D2X games 5297 Great ! A few days ago I tried d2x 0.1.3 and it works right out of the box. I found my old savegames from my DOS times ( I was in Level 10 )
and even loading my old savegames works. That`s great. Also my 4-button 3-axis Joystick works.
So I can finnish now the game on Linux :-).
---
Linux 2.4.16 - Athlon 600 - Voodoo3 - XFree86 4.2 - Playing at 1024x768
Glitches: No Menu Background - probably because the Voodoo max texture size is 256 2003-04-12 13:36:19 0
10251 Ultimate Stunts games 7038 YEAH! I've played the old stunts a lot, making a nice map, performing the most strange and very spectecular stunts :D I hope this game will still have these features, and enhance the gameplay with better graphics and sounds, and music ofcourse (I did digup the old stunts diskettes, and played it with dosbox, solid gameplay :) 2003-04-12 14:25:00 0
10252 FreeDoom games -1 Re: A little late - puuhhhh!!!! Stop whining grumbel and be grateful. If you so really want a freequake/2, then go make one. When it's done, post an announcement here so that we can then complain that UT2003 and etc have better graphics and that Q1/2 are both outdated. 2003-04-12 15:33:10 10245
10253 Cedega (WineX) games -1 re: Help prevent native ports! Exactly. If game x runs on Linux via WineX, then theres no incentive for the developer to make a real port to Linux. All they gotta do is make Windows games that are WineX friendly and we get stuck with crappy non-native emulation (yes I know that Wine is not an emulator). Compare UT played natively. It runs faster on Linux natively than on Windows. Now try playing the Windows version (if you could) via Winex - it's be far worse. WineX also said they'd GPL the source when they got a magical 20,000 consecutive registrations. Well, where is it? Leeches that suck the life out of GPL and don't put back into the community. The crappy cvs version of WineX is missing all the good stuff anyways. 2003-04-12 15:41:53 0
