You need to accept the fact that if linux does turn into a viable gaming platform then most of the best games will be closed in some way. I too would love to see this GPL'd but if Ruud cannot do it then just leave it at that. People who whine and snivel because they are unsatisfied with something that they got for free ($$) need to take a serious look at themselves and grow up. Also you need to take a realistic look at what opensourcing a multiplayer game will do for cheaters. Its tough enough to prevent cheating in closed source games but open source is heaven for cheat makers. I'm sure there are some things you could do to mitigate the danger such as closing certain parts of the source or only alowing blessed clients to connect to servers but still it's a concern. Linux needs more games period so lets not bicker about it and try to work more to promote linux gaming. Note to Ruud: there are other opensource compatible licences that are different from GPL.
