| 9905 | Neverwinter Nights Client | games | 7777 | It runs, but I'm getting dizzy. | I'm running: Knoppix (Debian Unstable) Athlon 1700+ Kernel 2.4.20 XFree86 4.3 ATI Radeon 9000 The game loads and runs fine. Only problem is the textures don't appear correctly, and are very distorted on the characters. The environment textures seem ok, only that they flash blue/yellow/green once in a while. I'm giving it 3 stars, because it actually runs and this is a major step forward for commercial Linux games. But I can't give it 5 stars, as it still doesn't run correctly on XFree86 4.3. | 2003-03-29 03:55:34 | 0 |

| 9909 | Neverwinter Nights Client | games | -1 | Re: I like it | Are you kidding? Its in the thousands at least, considering that the sales of certain titles was at least a thousand. Clearly, not everyone likes every game. Most linux gamers are selective about what titles they buy, the same as other gamers. It might be true that the number is still very small, but development conducted properly, with considering of cross-platform issues, can result in relatively easy ports for any new platform. This is a more sensible option when many titles are ported to windows, mac, and ps2. When the effort is put into making the development cross-platform from the start, less effort will be expended getting games to work on many platforms. This will make it more profitable to make port to the relatively small linux market. | 2003-03-29 10:11:31 | 9898 |
