FreeCol games 7429 java I love the idea to write it all in java. I tried to run it on my win98 PC, but after an openingscreen with a single button (main menu), the screen goes yellow and nothing comes after that. Going to try it later under linux. Hopefully that is working better. 2003-03-27 08:27:38 0
GL-117 games -1 Re: Written in C++, *hurl* Hmm, performance can be bought cheaply at a store near you... 2003-03-27 08:44:46 8964
Neverwinter Nights Client games -1 Re: Neverwinter Nights Client And what did you do to "help" BioWare release the Linux client?<p> Oh that's right...YOU DID FUCKING NOTHING! You're just a winer wanking to *OTHER* company's toys!<p> Grow down, you measley prick! 2003-03-27 11:20:38 9846
Tower Toppler games -1 Super duper!!! A most excellent conversion of an all time classic. I almost cried when I first played it, and it keeps getting better and better with each release... I think it is quite complete now and the only thing missing is an ending screen (if the original had one, I never finished it). Kudos!!! 2003-03-27 11:27:24 0
Vendetta games 7392 No Fun This game really has good graphics and sounds, and looks quite well but somehow it just doesn't make fun. The Problem is, that you can't see the differences between AI players and real players. Further the area is too huge, so if just few players are online, you won't find them. Another fact, that decreases the fun is, that you save money for a new gadget (p.e. by boringly trading with goods between stations which are seperated by an endless distance without any player, not even AI) and then you get killed and you have nothing left. But I still give it 3 stars for the nice graphics ;-) 2003-03-27 12:22:44 0
Tom Bombem: Assembly Language Adventure games 7574 Controls tend to lock / drift Congrats on this absolutely great game. One small annoyance; the ship tends to drift left or right all the way to the far edges unless I jam on the brakes by hitting the arrow key of the opposite direction. Maybe it's just my computer? No lectures about space-physics please. Makes this fast paced game more difficult. 2003-03-27 13:04:36 0
Neverwinter Nights Client games 6651 Re: PowerPC, Alpha, Sparc, and PDA suppo Yeah, this is a pretty funny troll. Sorry, your $10 Sparc from Ebay will probably NEVER run NwN, and if you are Mr. Big Bucks who can purchase brand new UltraSPARC's, what the hell are you whining about. Get your damn wallet and buy a lowly PC if you want to play the game. Heck, I rebuilt my entire pc up to A7N8X, XP2400+, 1Gb DDR266, 120Gb ATA100, and GeForce4MX for probably about $750 total. I reused my case, kb, monitor, sound card, etc. This is friggin' <b>cheap</b> for how ridiculously fast this system is. I can compile kernel 2.4.21-pre6 in about 3 minutes, including modules! No amount of optimizing is gonna make your sucky old slow workstation run NwN or Doom III for that matter. Maybe a Mac G4 would work, in which case BioWare is still working on the Mac port. 2003-03-27 16:37:06 9780
Neverwinter Nights Client games 6651 Re: PowerPC, Alpha, Sparc, and PDA suppo ... furthermore, PDA support for NwN is absolutely ridiculous. It feels cramped at 1024x768 and you want to run it at 320x200 ... what would be the point? Are you going to strap binoculars to your head so you can see the screen? How about floating point and OpenGL, my Zaurus sadly has no floating point, and OpenGL ... come on ... in a PDA? You'd need to lug a car battery around to run the thing for more than a few seconds and a water-cooling rig to boot. Playing at 0.01 fps would really blow, trust me. 2003-03-27 16:43:24 9780
Neverwinter Nights Client games 6651 Re: Great second beta software! This is due to old NVidia drivers. Get the 4191 drivers and it supposedly fixes this. Visit the BiWare forums for the latest info. 2003-03-27 16:49:37 9770
Neverwinter Nights Client games -1 Re: Radeon Patch available Woohoo! With the patch, it works on my 3dfx v5 card, too (at least to the point where I can create a character and start the game), albeit a bit slow (at 1280x1024-16) & with sound stuttering whenever the mouse is moved or other CPU tasks are done. A friend with a SiS got it running with this patch as well, although it has some more serious mouse problems for him (2 or more second delay on response; the game is pretty much unusable). 2003-03-27 17:33:08 9860
