The oldie but goodie. |
1.1.2 |
A Vector graphics shooter. |

An ode to oldie but goodie. It is a simple game that you can jump into and out of with no instructions. Just attempt to achieve the highest level possible (20 is about the highest unless you are some android from the future bent on killing us :)).

It was programmed in "D", digitalmars.com. What I consider the replacement for C/C++ and Java.

Anyway, just have fun. |

A fast-paced, frenetic blend of RTS and 2D space shooter |
Warcry.com describes Gate 88 as a “fast-paced, frenetic blend of real-time strategy and 2D space shooter.” Players dogfight in an upgradable command ship while developing base defenses, issuing squadron attacks, and researching new technologies. Though Gate 88’s abstract vector-art is unabashedly old school, Gamehippo.com says, “the gameplay is anything but retro. It’s new, fresh, and exciting.”

Although a singleplayer mode is included, the game's focus is on multiplayer. |

A mech-combat RPG. |

A century and a half ago the Earth was nearly destroyed by nuclear war. Now, a federation of free city-states has begun to restore civilization. However, there are forces operating in the darkness which will unleash the horrors of the past age in a bid to determine the future of the human race.

Features of the game include random storyline generation, richly detailed character generation, complex NPC interaction, and of course over 150 different mechanical designs ranging from jet fighters to giant robots to city-smashing tanks. GearHead is written in FreePascal and is open source. It compiles for both Linux and Windows, and may be played in either ASCII or SDL modes. |
