9654 GL-117 games -1 Re: Written in C++, *hurl* First of all, that is just a stupid bastardization of a quote.
Secondly, shut up dumb ass, heh.
I realize you're trolling and I'm biting which is your intention, but I can't help it in the C vs C++ debates. They usually originate from people with only a knowledge of the C language, but not software engineering and computer science. If you had both, you'd come to realise that most concepts in programming are language independent. You'd also realise one thing, that OO programming in C is certainly possible but stupid. The reason it is stupid is because you have to do everything for yourself, whereas in C++ the compiler will take care of some of it for you. One good example is a virtual table. If you wrote an OO program in C, you'd have to manage the virtual table yourself -- including setting it up, passing it off to "derived objects", etc... In C++, the compiler will take care of that for you. True you loose access to it, but then there really isn't a need to access it anyway. If you really do want to access it, you can make a hack on your specific platform to figure out where the VT is stored and do some hacky-casting to get it. Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. 2003-03-20 12:41:47 8964

9657 Boulderdash (BD4) games -1 Homepage doesn't work anymore The title says it all. Really. I'm not sure such a game is a big lose, anyway... 2003-03-20 15:22:54 0
9658 Neverwinter Nights Client games 4877 Excellent! Luckily I already have NWN installed and updated on a Windows partition; and although I'd rather have an installer, this does have the unexpected benefit of letting me keep my current characters, configuration, haks, dungeons and other miscellaneous downloads.
Now to find a couple of gigs to free up so that I can copy the install... 2003-03-20 15:32:18 0

9662 Deskmate! games 7742 Getting there... Well, it's a nice concept, but there's certainly a fair bit that could be added to the program (i.e. transparent backgrounds - don't seem to work for me.., moving/resizing images, saving/loading configurations, coordinating multiple instances, etc.)....hmm, maybe I'll try to get them working myself, and drop the authour a line :) 2003-03-20 16:37:54 0
