There's a black background, and the sprites aren't very colourful, but that's what it was like on the Spectrum. I'm sure someone could modify the background to use an image, and the guardian's could be modified a bit. You can't complain about the music, although the sound effects went a bit funny when I tried it. But really, if it's gameplay you're after, this is the best game ever.
