Sure, you can complete a port of a single game and it'll be a 100% native game, but still....after you complete a port of one game, there'll be another *better* game already availible and hence start the quick port cycle again. I'm not say porting is all bad. I just don't see it being too much different when tackling the issue of touting Linux as a gaming platform. Sure, Linux can be a gaming platform, but if it has to rely on emulation and porting, then all it will be is yesterdays gaming platform. And yeah, yesterdays games may be great, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay full price to play a game that's already been on the market 6-9 months. That's where I'm attacking the buisness case of a porting company. You can rally all you want about supporting Linux by waiting for that ported game, but when the Linux port shows up and the price is $45 and the same game now only cost $30 at CompUSA...all I see is another Loki....and by the way, Loki was a great company, but I never bought any of their games for the situation I outlined above.
