| 9224 | Simutrans | games | -1 | Hey | Is that a:
1. Septic Tank
2. Nuclear Waste Storange
3. X (Adult) Perephanelia Storage facility
or are you just happy to see me?
I'm talking about the big green-colour container marked with an "X", in someone's backyard on the screenshot for this game. Ignore the oil-well or smoking factory, within an 100 yards of the house. I am suspicious of that green-colour container marked with an "X"... | 2003-03-03 10:54:05 | 0 |

| 9232 | Falsoyd | games | 4512 | Re: Don't know how much this has improve | NO. The best way to note the improvements is for the author to say what they are. Any of them. On the webpage.
Sorry, but installing software is rarely an instant thing, things often have some dependency that you don't have (or more usually a newer version, especially for those of us using Debian/stable), and often those dependencies aren't clearly spelt out.
Result? I have to chase about for newer versions of X, Y, or Z, that might break compatibility with some existing piece of software that I already know I want, and then often find that no, the project is little better than it was before, especially in the areas I found lacking, and I have to unpick any damage done from those dependencies I'd installed. And in all that time spent, I could have been doing countless other things, and so could other people. | 2003-03-03 22:07:41 | 9216 |
| 9233 | Falsoyd | games | 4512 | Re: Don't know how much this has improve | And I'm impressed at your capacity for sarcasm. So I complained about this project, Ooo, throw me in prison, I am clearly the epitome of evil. I found the game boring the first time, the absolute lack of anything whatsoever on the webpage to tell me (or anyone else) about what is happening with it gave me no reason to try it again. It was primarily that lack of information that I was complaining about. Are you criticising me for that, or for not saying it was the greatest game in existence and giving it 5 stars like many people on this site seem to do with every game?
As for my own ability, wow, have we met? Yes, only one of my software projects ever got totally finished, it was a pretty rubbish LOGO interpreter, and no, I've never released anything yet. Oh, how can I hold my head up in public again? Will any of those other projects ever get finished? I hope so. Don't worry, I'm not going to say how wonderful something will be that maybe will never even get released, but if anything does get released, then hell, I'll let people know how fantastic it is (or isnt), and I'll point out roughly what changes between releases. | 2003-03-03 22:39:49 | 9215 |

| 9235 | Tow Bowl Tactics | games | 21 | Compilation | In order to compile I had to get the sfont source, put it in the tbt/src directory (make sure you don't overwrite the tbt Makefile when you do this). Then make line 5 in the tb/src/Makefile:

CC = g++ `sdl-config --cflags`

This or something very similar worked for me. Hope this helps anyone. Also, if you don't speak french, goto the options menu when the game first starts, there is an english checkbox to click and then you are set. | 2003-03-04 06:53:32 | 0 |
