Nice to see he has fixed the crashing buggy initial screen if you haven't read the license (the 1 sentence that's important) after I pointed it out. The developer needs to come down off his pedestal and chill out. Yeah we know you've written a game, but it doesn't mean you have to start conducting yourself in some nazi manner. Stop being power mad and treat your intended audience with some respect. | 2003-02-28 10:21:07 | 9154 |
3486 | news | -1 | Re: pff. | You have some legitimate gripes . . .that said. I don't really think Bioware is trying to deliberately pss off the lInux community. Maybe next time they will get icculus to port the game and give them a linux installer out of the box, much as UT2003. Considering this is Bioware's first attempt at releasing linux based software (at least commercially) I beleive they deserve a little leeway. For the love of god it's only been 9 months . . .maybe that is a long time in the gaming community; but the only way we Linux gamers are going to convince commercial game developers to support our platform is putting our money where our mouth is. | 2003-02-28 10:31:37 | 9130
Unreal Tournament 2003 | games | -1 | Thanks to Epic and Icculus | Ut 2003 proves once and for all that Linux makes a fine gaming platform. My hat goes off to the guys at Epic for releasing a Linux installer out of the box, and for having the good sense to partner with the Icculus guys; who BTW did a fantastic job adpapting the game to the Linux platform. With an athlon XP 2100+, GForce 3 ti 200, 512mb of pc 2700 mushkin RAM the game flies. the fact that we Linux gamers don't have to play with the a CD in the drive, means we don't have to risk scratches to our play disc through constantly handling. (put that in your pipe and smoke it windoze users). All commercial game developers should pay close attention to the model Epic has used for shipping Linux games. | 2003-02-28 10:48:46 | 0

Eternal Lands | games | -1 | Re: Read the license, or you can't play | I like the licence, especially the parts at the bottom, it's really worth reading it :-) | 2003-02-28 15:14:54 | 9160

Trackballs | games | -1 | Re: Bug? high-jump over walls, barriers | It's not the game engine at fault, but the level design (created by various users). Please let the game author know which levels need to be modified, so that it can be fixed. He modified Labyrinth to stop this cheating, what other areas can be jumped? | 2003-02-28 15:24:07 | 9143
