FreeCraft | games | -1 | Hmm... | Sadly, when I run 'make buildit' to add war2 graphics/tilesets, it fails to build 'startool', a tool for preliminary Starcraft support. Once it fails to build startool, it won't continue.<br><br> Sad. | 2003-02-27 16:26:34 | 0
3486 | news | -1 | You know what | You know what I think I'll wait till it's released for linux and judge it for myself instead of listening to people who really don't know what thier talking about, and as for the whole they lied to us crowd you should count yourselves lucky that they are even releasing a linux client they don't have to you know... | 2003-02-27 16:59:52 | 0
3486 | news | -1 | Re: You know what | Why do we have to count ourselves lucky - they WANT our cash - there are other games out there but there is a limited number of people who will buy them - and with the increase in linux users on the rise (increasingly so - MS is very worried) Its about goddamn time people started saying - Linux clients should be released at the same time MS are. I play NWN under wine and its fine - but they said there would be a linux client and there should be - this is all mire vapourware BS to get linux users not to just pan the game altogether. Linux clients should no longer be a privilege they should be a right. | 2003-02-27 21:07:04 | 9150

If a volunteer with a fast video card/machine could email me at cctorok@yahoo.com, I'd be happy to send it to you for testing. (Your name will be included in the credits!) Please specify windows or source, as the combined 3M .tz file may not make it thru email. Thanks!! | 2003-02-27 22:39:23 | 9127 |

Eternal Lands | games | 6672 | Read the license, or you can't play ?!!! | It's a nice idea for Micro$oft. In the future, as part of the ATA-200000 standard, we can expect an interface that reads exactly what we're thinking, and sends the data to Micro$oft HQ. They then decide if the user is worthy to use the software based on a regression test of the brain. If the user fails, their brain is fried, so as to reduce the risk of them trying to use the software again, and pushing up M$es administration costs. <br /> Seriously tho... something better than this 'read the license' thing would have been better, like a Quiz: <br /> [Display message window]'This is a very serious license-related statement'<br /> [Display message window] 'What was the third word of the 5th line?'<br /> <br /> ...<br /> etc, etc. This way, the whole thing ends up being a bit quicker, as only the most important details are impressed upon the user's mind. Or something.... my 2 Pakistani Rupees. | 2003-02-28 02:21:13 | 0

Unreal Tournament 2003 | games | 7191 | awsome | I run it on mdk9 and only had to change my screen type to generic LCD for my Iiyma to cope with the challenge. FPS is great (Geforce2) on XP1900+ and install was easy, once I could locate the install script on the 3rd disc. Just followed a mag's recommendation to run is as follows: sh /mnt/cdrom/linuxinstall.sh It bodes well for the release of many more games. | 2003-02-28 04:56:44 | 0
