Abe's Amazing Adventure!! games -1 Abe's Amazing Adventure!! Put the following in your main loop: td2=SDL_GetTicks(); dt=((float)(td2-td))*0.1; // 10*dt = 1 Frame td=td2; Now multiply your object offset with dt. After 1 second we have traveled 100 pixels. e.g. 50 Hz would give a dt of 2 (20msec per frame), and 120 Hz would give a dt of 0.8333 (8.333 msec per frame), or without vsync 333 FPS would give a dt of 0.3. 2003-02-27 09:25:22 0
3486 news -1 Re: NwN = 'Nights Wailing Ni!' You got some points there. But no facts either. I wont judge them before that. With that I mean, I am eager to read the comming and the aftermath of this in news site on the net.<br><br> Like: "You said, derek, that converting the game to linux was'nt that hard, but why took it so long to get out then?"<br><br> And: "You had the linux community going when the pre-release info about the game should be rolling out in one box for all three platforms (Win/Lnx/Mac). What went so TERRIBLY wrong?" <br><br>I for one, sure would like to hear about that. But we will be hearing that AFTER the release I am sure of... <br><br> (sorry for my eventually bad english/grammar) /Cptn Chaos 2003-02-27 10:14:26 9134

3486 news 6952 I don't care about this beta I just want to know how the final product will be. @ the moment it sounds very bad. There's no toolset, I would have to import the English Version with CDs I can't use, I would have to download tiles for a large amount of money and after that I still need time and 2 CD-Rs to save that. That's far too much for a game that isn't complete without a toolset anyway. It's rediculous to exspect that I'll spend any cent/€ on that. I exspect real good (!!) news or keep your trash and go home. Schugy 2003-02-27 12:27:11 0
Trackballs games -1 Re: Bug? high-jump over walls, barriers You are right... I can still do the double-jump thing, but on some levels (like labyrinth) I can no longer jump over stuff. 2003-02-27 12:42:35 9118
3486 news -1 Re: Too Little Too Late, or maybe Never yeah but i don't think that 'A Tale In The Desert' looks to be in the same league as nwn does it? plus it's billed as 'Multiplayer online role-playing game that emphasises cooperation and has no combat'. i've only read a brief preview about it but it doesn't appear as good to me. 2003-02-27 13:07:17 9135
3486 news -1 Re: Heh May be the secure rom crap that Winblows uses that tuxers don't have. Afterall Bioware does need to work through Infrogrames whether we or they like it or not. 2003-02-27 13:32:32 9124
3486 news -1 Re: Too Little Too Late, or maybe Never then you need to actually 'try' it first..its different but in a 'as good as' nwn way I think..non-combat frankly is 'refresing' but yes nwn is just different. I could have hoped for a SP version though...however,,if bioware isn't careful they seek to be upstaged by both ATITD and Savage <G>..savage is looking VERY sweet and they already have' a linux version...I agree with other poster..NWN was NOT crossplatform from beginning..they LIED stright faced and NOW are playing 'catch up'...which is fine to at least come clean but its 'not admirable' illl say that! I'll have to think longggggggg and hard before buying anymore bioware products now..especially with the non-cooperation about toolset latre -== 2003-02-27 13:33:36 9144

ServerWatch games -1 Thanks I think As a relative newcommer to Linux I would like to thank you for the effort you no doubt put into this program. I have chosen to run a dedicated NWN server for a small group of friends and decided to try to run the whole shebang under SUSE 8.1 (mainly because it has given me an excuse to try Linux as an OS). Having learnt enought to rob the necessary files from my original NWN install on a Win200 box I assumed that the least bioware would do is to provide users with a simple GUI to run the server. Imagine my surprise when I had to runn the whole thing from a command line. Not that I cannot do it rather why the hell should I Linux and Unix have moved well passed this stage. I look forward to trying your software out tomorrow fingers crossed. I'll post again to let you know what I think :) Phlebes 2003-02-27 16:20:36 0
