| 9107 | WineX Game Manager | games | -1 | Re: WineX | I've bought most commercial Linux games. I'll continue to do so -- AND -- use Wine, WineX, or any other tool.
The reasons listed on that page do not instil trust since they are frequently over exagerations if not flat out false. | 2003-02-25 17:43:14 | 9083 |

| 9110 | XBobble | games | -1 | Re: Don't take this the wrong way, but.. | I completely agree with you - I wish there was a clone of Bubble Bobble. But in the mean time, there's always xmame and bublbobr.zip :) The graphics might be getting a bit old, but it sure was one hell of a game ... | 2003-02-26 01:32:15 | 9081 |
| 9111 | Eternal Lands | games | -1 | Re: Just get a black window | HMMM - is the developer on some sort of crazy power trip? I looked through the license, didn't read EVERY single word but I speed read a lot of it, just like NORMAL people do. If you are going to start programming your software in this manner I advise you to display a professional quality warning message that says "You have not read a specific paragraph from the license that is required to activate this game. Please read it thoroughly before progressing." or something equally sensible, NOT some juvenile L33T sarcastic unhelpful message. Games are supposed to be fun. They are not meant to make you angry and aggresive before you've even progressed through the opening screen!

P.S. Please in your license.txt will you change the word 'loose' to 'lose'. It's a common problem whereby people mistakenly use the wrong word. Remember Loose sounds like Juice and Lose sounds like Choose (yes I am correct). Lose = to not win, Loose = your pants are too big and will fall down.

P.Sv2 Have you read ALL the words I've said? I do hope so... | 2003-02-26 01:39:00 | 9100 |

| 9116 | Trackballs | games | -1 | Bug? high-jump over walls, barriers |
It is possible to do a double-jump thing, which on some maps (the ones with the force field barriers) makes it way too easy. You can double-jump over the barriers with little difficulty.

How to do it: Left-click causes the ball to jump. Try banging on the jump button while stationary, you'll notice sometimes you get extra height. With just a little practice you can do it fairly reliably. Jump, then when you land jump again. This makes it easy to hop over barriers.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a neat trick. Last tried it with 0.6.0
| 2003-02-26 11:48:14 | 0 |
