| 9096 | Eternal Lands | games | -1 | Licence | Though the licence is not GPL I like it after all in the current state, it's very funny. | 2003-02-25 06:03:52 | 0 |
| 9097 | Eternal Lands | games | 5676 | Re: Just get a black window | Yep, read the license. I have it open in Konqueror looking at it while I run the game. Still it seems to get stuck after I press a key and then I have to shut down the Konsole to get rid of it. I can only get the first screen up a few times, most times it's just black anyway, so it might be nothing to do with keyboard input. | 2003-02-25 07:07:08 | 9095 |
| 9098 | Liero-AI | games | 4140 | good potential, some poor physics | The game has great potential, the weapons, levels, and bonuses are amazing. However I have to say the ninja rope, being one of the more important aspects of the game, is just entirely too buggy. The rope often goes through walls, or propels you forward even when it hasn't grappled on to anything. If the author can fix these issues it should be an amazing game though. | 2003-02-25 08:19:17 | 0 |
| 9099 | GL-117 | games | -1 | GL-117 | Hi, I'm having problems with this one. The game crashes with "Illegal instruction", and this happens both for the binary rpm, and for the one I compiled by myself... My system is Pentium4, RH8.0 Linux, ATI Rage 128... | 2003-02-25 09:19:12 | 0 |
| 9100 | Eternal Lands | games | 6314 | Re: Just get a black window | I didn't get l33t talk in my window when I first ran it so I checked what would happen if I didn't follow the instructions from the license and then I got l33t talk... | 2003-02-25 09:43:18 | 9097 |
| 9101 | Crystal Space | games | 7620 | Re: GNU/Linux Planescape? I HOPE not | You people all need to get a grip. The game is FREE if I can download it and play it and not have to PAY for anything. If you don't have to PAY for it, then it's FREE. Now, for all you GPL zealots, don't kid yourselves about what FREE means. The GPL has it's own hooks. Hooks that imply a non-free to do with it as you like meaning. I can respect anyones decision to use GPL just as much as I can respect anyone who doesn't use GPL. And on the graphics issue, I totally agree. To each their own. | 2003-02-25 12:31:21 | 5406 |
| 9102 | XBobble | games | -1 | Re: Don't take this the wrong way, but.. | Easy answer -- there are lots of clones of puzzle bobble (bust-a-move,frozen-bubble,snood,whatever else you want to call the game) because it's an easy game to clone. There are no clones of bubble bobble because it's a hard game to clone.
Bubble Bobble had more levels to build, and the levels are more complicated than those in Puzzle Bobble. Bubble Bobble required better physics. Bubble Bobble required enemy AI, spawning enemies, character animation, and so forth. In every way, it's a more complicated game than Puzzle Bobble, even though it came first.
Puzzle Bobble has joined Tetris as a classic "programmer's first game" project, and you're going to become just as sick of seeing new implementations of Puzzle Bobble as you already are of seeing new implementations of Tetris. | 2003-02-25 12:59:51 | 9081 |

| 9105 | Slune | games | 7328 | cool ! | tried it, it rocks. models are a bit sucky, but multiplayer is great fun, (maybe a bit buggy :) and the progress since the 0.1 is amazing... keep up the good work ! | 2003-02-25 16:14:03 | 0 |
