| 8969 | GL-117 | games | -1 | Re: Written in C++, *hurl* | Please don't post crap. C and C++ are both -languages-; there is nothing intrinsicly faster with C than C++. Repeat: they are languages. Now, if you wanted to compare C compilers with C++ compilers, that would be different. But you instead chose to simply rant about languages without a shred of evidence to back your theory up. You seem to forget that most games (especially commercial) are now written in C++. | 2003-02-19 16:08:53 | 8964 |

| 8971 | 3440 | news | -1 | Re: Segfaults | I think there is a difference in the C/C++ abi between gcc releases, try recompile, since sid has gcc 3.2 as a standard compiler. ( in other words it matters what the binary is compiled with ). | 2003-02-20 02:43:47 | 8946 |
| 8972 | Frozen Bubble | games | 7328 | great game but | Its really a nice game... fun and addictive... but : - doesnt work well with gentoo / nvidia drivers :( - no joystick support - no network support hopefully that will change at some point :) | 2003-02-20 06:31:25 | 0 |
| 8973 | GL-117 | games | -1 | Re: Written in C++, *hurl* | I believe many of them use even higher level languages for builtin scripting. When complex game logic is needed it is probably much faster to write in a language where you needn't worry about memory management and stuff. Instead you can devote time to optimize where it is most needed. | 2003-02-20 10:27:01 | 8969 |
