Generic Collectible Card Game | games | 1043 | Re: Is this stuff legal? | No, graphics are not included by default. The client renders card images by itself, if needed. | 2003-01-28 05:38:27 | 8459
Anagramarama | games | -1 | Simple, but nice | This is a really nice game! But maybe one could implement some extra features, like the following: --- 1) Player gets a few seconds of extra time for every correct word, depending on the length of that word --- 2) After completing a level, the player gains bonus points for remaining time --- I just tried to implement those features by myself but I didn't succeed due to missing experience in C programming... | 2003-01-28 08:14:57 | 0

Cube | games | 4334 | Re: Attention gcc 3.2 users | There are two different versions of the source code. The one that is used to build the binary on Linux and Windows systems (the version that everyone uses) is not available and the difference between the source code that builds the binary that everyone uses and the source code included in the package is that they have different network protocols, so that if you compile it by source you can only play on servers and with clients that have compiled the sources themselves (which only very few people have done on Linux and even fewer on Windows systems). Meaning if you're using gcc 3.2 you're going to be very very lonely indeed, and eihrul hasn't even bothered creating a gcc 3.2 binary even though all he needs to do is get on a gcc 3.2 system and type 'make' with his source code and put the binaries on the internet, and that I asked for such binaries since a couple weeks after the last release. | 2003-01-28 12:59:44 | 8480

Trackballs | games | 6073 | This game is way fun! | <p>Its really nice to see a game, with high quality graphics, sound and gameplay. its (unfortunatly) rare, not only in the linux world.. (Well, windows world seems to only spit out fps' ...)</p> I love and Im properbly going to waste ours on it :)<br> a couple of suggestions:<br> <nl> <li>make an autosave progress. when you complete a level, you shouldn't have to start all the way from the warmup level.... it hurts the replayability..</li> <li>maybe provide a spindizzy (as discussed further down) like gameplay. I personally vulenteer for helping out with remaking the spindizzy world :)</li> </nl> <br> Other that that. I going to recommend this to anyone who like puzzle/action games :)<p> - Styx | 2003-01-28 15:03:32 | 0
Race | games | 7033 | Control | As others have said, this game looks pretty similar to Skidmarks, however, it is not currently nearly as fun. The reason for this is the controls, it's striving too much for realism and as such is very awkward to control. The problem is that you actually skid and have no control while doing so (as is the case when people skid), which often results in you facing the wrong way, and off the track. It gets pretty fustrating as even just trying to line your car up with the road (with the gas pressed of course) causes you to lose control. Personally, I think this game would benifit greatly if the effects of skidding was massivly reduced, like if you only skidded for a short amount of time, or if you retained some control whilst skidding, allowing you to powerslide. Or perhas the tracks just need wider roads. Or perhaps I just suck at racing games... | 2003-01-28 15:41:57 | 0
