'Challenging' is a bit of a stretch. |
This game is an absolute JOKE. Expand? Yeah, you can TRY. The AI lives and
breathes to have nothing but unprovoked ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. Simply
illogical.
Also, um, like why should the AI be able to DEFEAT *12* VETERAN
LEGION with a single ARCHER? Even in 'easy' mode, attacks are complete
bulls***. Veteran Legion should NEVER lose to non-veteran phalanx
in open field combat. Musketeers should NEVER defeat veteran
fighters (Christ, how realistic is THAT? circa 1650 musketeers,
wide open, on plains, and my 1940's era fighter LOSES? Bulls***!).
Howitzer, in OPEN PLAINS, not even Fortified, and they DEFEAT
Veteran Marines when the marines attack?
Time and time and time again the AI gets to attack and defeat BETTER
units. I lost 6 veteran Armor and 4 fighters taking a city with no city
walls (not that they matter to air and armor), defended by musketeers.
If only Hitler had Cromwell's New Model Army we might all be speaking
German today.
And another thing; does the AI get some kind of tech leg up? I have
Leonardo, I am 'most advanced' civ, yet the AI has space flight and
having just met me for the first time, just happens to have about
50 mech infantry, transport and AEGIS cruisers handy? Oh, and
since I'm at constant war, the people aren't happy, my govt falls,
and I can't produce S***, yet the AI is at war and it doesn't seem
to bother IT's production in any way?
Yeah, this game is real fun. Fink remove freeciv. I'll go play CivII
where I can actually be certain my Stealth Bombers can sometimes
defeat warriors.
Don't bother telling me to sign up to contribute, having lost every single
game to illogical, indefensible warfare outcomes I'm through with
freeciv forever. I know CivII 'cheats', too, but freeciv takes it to
a new level that makes it a complete waste of time. Even if you do
everything 'right', you can't stop the AI's |
