| 8190 | Cube | games | -1 | Re: Doesn't work with Debian Woody | I had the same problem with SDL_mixer until I realized that while my distrobution provided libSDL_mixer.a and libSDL_mixer.la, for some odd reason, it didn't provide libSDL_mixer-1.2.so.0, which is what the game was looking for. I actually yanked that file from an rpm I found and stuck it in /usr/lib and the game works fine after ldconfig. You might have a similar problem and, thus, a similar solution (don't know much about looking for potato packages). Good luck. By the way, the source is available in the package I downloaded. When you untar the package, cd into the new directory and you should find a subdirectory called "source". Within this, you'll find the tarred source. By the way, let me add into this that Cube has shown me just how far open source gaming has come - EXCELLENT work! When I can remember my login information, I'll give the all the stars I'm allowed to give. :) | 2003-01-12 09:21:46 | 5833 |
| 8191 | 3304 | news | -1 | Holy sh!at! | My GOD! Bandits is SO COOL! I (stupidly) preorded yet another game from tuxgames this morning (Bandits) before I had playtested it any (my other preorder was of course, doom3, and well, I guess that wasnt all THAT stupid). Well, I got kinda interested in what I got myself this morning, so I promptly downloaded the winblows demo for the game (sadly, i have a seperate temporary winxp drive to get my NWN on while I wait for bioware to fly straight). MY GOD! COOL! VROOM VROOM! Shoot crap! Watch it blow up! Listen to the guy with his fun-key a$$ scottish aksent! WOW! And the soundtrack, kicking! Only down downfalls I see: No dedicated server (booo, fix this please Mike), scenery pallat (pallet?) is well, brown... and the game can be a bit difficult the first one or two times you play it. Thereafter, my god! its like quake1 on crack, with good graphics, jammin tunes, and a slick style of play and environment! WOOHOOO! | 2003-01-12 09:31:25 | 0 |
| 8192 | GLHack | games | -1 | Cool! | I've been playing it for the whole year (lol, since January 1, 2003)
I like the graphics. The speed of the software openGL graphics is actually quite good on my Pentium 150MHz computer.
Thanks for the fun! Perhaps, you can re-invent a story-line for glHack and make-do with your engine and the nethack engine for an independent game. Hmmm... | 2003-01-12 10:07:01 | 0 |

| 8195 | Torneo De Artes Marciales | games | -1 | Re: Pinochet | Not liking Pinochet is due to your politics. Of'course, you have a reason other than "i didn't vote for him" ... Voting is anti-freedom, so don't get stuck under someone's foot that claims your company voted for their foot to step on you. Stinky! | 2003-01-12 10:22:35 | 8187 |
