| 8086 | Rise of the Triad | games | -1 | Finally... | To me, Rise of the Triad was always more fun than DOOM or its bretheren; there's a certain sense of humor about this game that makes it stand apart from the cookie-cutter FPS crowd. It also had the best multiplayer options of its day, including modes that were more than just Deathmatch (in case you were in a pacifistic mood that day, I guess), such as item-collection races. Even though in terms of technology RotT is somewhat dated today - walls are handled in a manner similar to Wolfenstein 3D, meaning square blocks placed on a grid - that shouldn't matter to "true" gamers. I'd *still* rather play RotT than any Quake. This port cuts one of the last remaining ties I had to DOS/Windows... | 2003-01-08 07:39:57 | 0 |
| 8087 | Abuse-SDL | games | 6395 | very cool | It is a very cool game. Probably better than all other action games in 2D. It's a bit old (I remmember how I played a cracked version of the original in 1996). The amount of triggers is amazing and there is a great deal of original thinking invested into this game but: It tends to get boring after a time like all action games (sorry, action game fans) | 2003-01-08 08:27:38 | 0 |
| 8088 | FreeCraft | games | -1 | Re: help! | RTFM, its all written in the documentation.
1) Get the binary or the source and build the binary self.
2) Edit tools/build.sh with your favorite editor. Can be skipped if your cdrom is mounted to /cdrom.
3) Insert original CD-ROM (not the BNE version).
4) Run ". tools/build.sh"
5) Play with "./freecraft"
Simple or? | 2003-01-08 09:39:41 | 7924 |
| 8089 | Rise of the Triad | games | 6457 | YYYEEEEEESS!!! | At least!!! It's not Duke Nukem 3D, but ROTT is very nice game. So... icculus->karma++; // ;-) | 2003-01-08 10:31:27 | 0 |
| 8090 | iMaze | games | 7030 | the first Midimaze clone | ..what else? One of the first networked first person shooters on the ST and available since 1995 for Linux and Solaris. A funny shoot out :) There are computer controlled opponents (socalled ninjas) available but these are too stupid to have much fun with them. I strongly recommend playing this with friends. | 2003-01-08 11:00:28 | 0 |
| 8091 | Tux Paint | games | -1 | Tuxpaint | Really a great application! My kid loves it (3 years now). Ik looked into the sources just to see whether a quick hack would make it possible to support other resolutions than the hard-coded 640-480. Unfortunately almost all numbers are hardcoded and objects are placed on screen in relation to each other rather than in relation to the screensize __and__ each other. So this means lots of work to get support for other resolutions. Well if I can find some spare time I can start to work on it. Anyone even remotely interested in this? | 2003-01-08 11:18:16 | 0 |
| 8093 | KartingRace | games | -1 | WHERE'S THE BANNANAS??!! | I WANT TO THROW A BANNANA! For the love of KartRacing! This would be prima-faci award-winning software if we can throw bannanas! And think of other stuff too, like turtle shells and rocket-boosters! Multiplayer and 3D rocks! | 2003-01-08 13:01:37 | 0 |
| 8094 | KartingRace | games | -1 | Looks cool | But why, oh why use fmod? Seriously why? | 2003-01-08 13:21:07 | 0 |
