FreeCraft games 848 FreeCraft Great Game, still needs a little bit of speed enhancements so that it can run on slower machines, but otherwise almost completely functional. 06-18-99 2000-03-24 17:07:57 0
NetHack games 1739 NetHack The biggest and most addictive RPG on Linux. The graphics are pretty nice too. 1999-06-19 10:21:04 0
XBill games 1739 XBill Quite playable but there is no novel idea or good graphics to make up for it. 1999-06-19 10:42:06 0

LinCity games 1739 LinCity LinCity lacks a nice graphical client. 1999-06-19 10:46:14 0
Ultima Online games 1767 Ultima Online I cancelled my service a while back because of the complete lack of Linux support displayed by Origin. The one programmer they seemed to have working on it appeared to be swamped just keeping up with the encryption changes. Sound stopped working in the December release and the patch client was broken so that data files wouldn't be updated. In addition network lag got to be unbearable. While Origin can't control the internet, they CAN make sure they're on a backbone that can support their traffic. As far as I could tell they weren't doing this. Nice concept and if you run Linux/Windows you might want to play it under Windows but the implementation needs a lot of work. 1999-06-19 12:10:22 0

Civilization: Call To Power games -1 Civilization: Call T The game is great. And for all you whiny babies complaining about no source code, well, why don't you go write a free game this good and give us the source code. Shut up! I did think the memory requirements were a bit steep. 64 megs main memory, 64 megs swap, it ate it all up. I guess that what we get for good graphics, sound, & video support. 1999-06-19 16:02:30 0
Civilization: Call To Power games 325 Civilization: Call T Just been playing on my new PC at 16bpp. Excellent. Ignore my complaints about speed - it's plenty fast enough. The 1.1 changes are all pretty good too - it's good to see feedback being rewarded. 1999-06-20 02:12:34 0
