7966 Decopter games 3493 A good starting point Nicely written program that looks as though it would make a great starting point for a game 2003-01-01 12:57:50 0
7967 3261 news -1 It's about time. In all the years the linux games sites have been around, I am surprised that this is the first time anyone is doing awards. Nice going, guys! 2003-01-01 20:06:39 0
7968 3261 news 4512 rassen frassen forum... Go to try making nominations, am suprised to have the comment entry form ask for my username.
Fill in my username anyway. Write out my nomination... [Submit]
Sorry, that username is already taken.
Of course it is! It's mine!!! Surely as the forums seem to be on the same host as this bit (are these comment bits classed as part of the news section? Or what?), the forum code should be able to read those cookies that store my login just as well, no??? Grumble... 2003-01-01 20:42:40 0

7970 3261 news 2 Re: rassen frassen forum... Hi Tomble,
I found that the login code wasn't setting domain cookies, so if you came here by pointing your browser at "www.happypenguin.org" and then clicked a link pointing to "happypenguin.org" without the "www", your login cookie wouldn't be valid. I think this, or some variation of it, is why the forums didn't recognize your login.
You'll be happy to know that I've fixed the login code, and now cookies are valid for all of happypenguin.org. Sorry about the trouble.
bobz 2003-01-01 21:17:11 7968
7971 3261 news 4512 Re: rassen frassen forum... Wow, now that's service! Cheers Bob!
Nonetheless, it didn't seem to make the forum code work out who I was, but I see now that you're saying it's an issue of setting the cookies (at login time) rather than the forum code reading them. No matter, I logged into the forum section and it at least works, it had just confused the hell out of me when I first saw it.
Thanks for the time you spend on keeping the Game Tome running smoothly! It's appreciated! 2003-01-01 22:32:20 7970
7973 Xconq games -1 Definitely worth a try I would recommend that anyone who wants to play this game actually bothers to get the latest cvs version. The developers are being very conservative about the next release (hopefully soon), and there have been quite a few visible changes. Well, the display is more colourful anyway :).

The main problem that this game suffers from is definitely the tcl/tk interface (loses one star for it). This is probably the best interface possible the the tk widgets, and hopefully the SDL interface will be completed soon. ASC has an excellent interface, but the rest of the game is nowhere near complete, xconq has a very complete standard game, plus a few other goodies, but an awful interface. Its a shame neither of them are quite there yet. For some reason the developers seem to be putting a lot of work into this interface instead of admitting defeat and going for a better one.

Somethings going wrong, so it refuses to admit I'm logged in, so I'm going to have to give a pointless 3 star rating. It would be four with a good interface. 2003-01-01 23:19:34 0
7974 xrick games 3722 I last commented a year ago... I last checked this game out over a year ago, I just compiled the latest version xrick-021212 and nearly everything I wanted for the game is there now. Fantastic 5 stars! 2003-01-02 01:50:20 0
7976 FreeDroid games 6077 releases... While there has been a rather unimportant release of the freedroid rpg (0.9.1) today, the final version (1.0 I suppose) of the more important and according to download statistics far more popular classical freedroid is due to come out in january 2003, which means in the next few feeks. Have fun, jp. 2003-01-02 07:44:10 0
7977 FreeCraft games 6693 good and bad Works well, what's there, except for:
- starting the program a second time the sound is messed up.
- the occasional hard crashes.
In both I suspect a bug in the sound driver. 2003-01-02 11:16:37 0
