Frozen Bubble games 6935 Excellent Game...Astonishing Use of Perl A very nicely built game with great graphics and sound. Definitely deserving of five stars and an astonishing example of the power of Perl. 2002-12-17 01:19:50 0
Moon Lander games 6935 Good Work A solid and fun recreation of a classic game idea. I found it very entertaining (though I'll admit I probably find Moon Lander a bit more entertaining than your average gamer). And my only major complaint is the blocky text used throughout the game as this somewhat detracts from the aesthetics of the game (plus sometimes I get the feeling it should be centered when its not). 2002-12-17 01:28:38 0
Iter Vehemens Ad Necem games -1 Re: Assembler errors, gah :P the 'pusha' and 'popa' assembler commands push every register on the stack, and pop them off, respectively, doubt that helps much, but yes why would it need to do that? 2002-12-17 03:49:01 5458
FooBillard games -1 Re: Can not compile in Gentoo <p>Shift "char str[256];" from line 570 src/billard3d.c to line 566, right after "char filename[512];". <p>I have already reported this problem, and it should have been fixed in version 2.2. At the time of this posting, version 2.2 is not on the main page, but you can get it at http://foobillard.sunsite.dk/dnl/. <p>Cort 2002-12-17 03:57:51 7808
pydance games -1 Re: Pad I built a PSX-parport adapter and found that the driver had some real problems. SDL audio with the OSS drivers would skip and pop. CPU load was high on SDL games. I'm not sure what the reason is. It seems to only effect SDL apps. Unloading the driver for the parport controller corrected everything. Of course, I'm not much of a programmer- so I'm not really able to dig into the code and figure it out. 2002-12-17 04:32:00 5576
Iter Vehemens Ad Necem games -1 Re: Assembler errors, gah :P <p> From IVAN's homepage: </p> <p> <i> IVAN must be compiled and run on an i386 compatible environment, because some older graphics function use assembly. We are looking at ways to fix this in the near-future. </i></p> <p> And yes - it's stupid. But if you want to write the functions with C++for us developers, we will immediatly include them, (providing that they are just about as fast as the current functions). At some point we will <b>have</b> to rewrite these functions, but we are currently occupied by the gameplay, because that is really the most important part at the moment. </p> 2002-12-17 06:11:24 7811

Iter Vehemens Ad Necem games -1 Great game! This is great game! <BR><BR> Obviously the authors are fans of Nethack, as there are things that were taken straight from it (and the food issue is even worse than it is for a wizard in Nethack!). <BR><BR> The storyline is quite humoristic and not be taken seriously at all. There are some references to Terry Pratchett 's <i>Discworld</i> (The Great Frog that carries the world on his back can't be coincidence!). <BR> <BR> All in all, if you like Zangband or Nethack, give this game a try. 2002-12-17 07:12:04 0
Boson games -1 Can&#7787; run it!! I tried the "KDEDIRS=/usr/local boson" mentioned below but still no go. I havent much luck gettin things to work on this OS. Ive already spent a day trying to get FlightGear to work (still not working). Boson was next on my list of want&#347; (wishes). Im using RedHat (although that shouldn&#7787; matter). I have a similar situation as below, everthing is installed to /usr/local/kde 2002-12-17 15:59:38 0
