| 7732 | 3208 | news | 325 | Buy some transgaming stuff... | They'd probably have this working long since if there wasn't a "Real Soon, oops, maybe in a few months, oops, make that a year" native port.
It's too old - it'll flop when they release the Linux port and that'll be an excuse never to do a Linux port again. | 2002-12-13 19:20:22 | 0 |
| 7733 | 3208 | news | -1 | Well that was dumb | Writting a multiplatform game and then using things that are not is just plane stupid | 2002-12-13 19:37:50 | 0 |
| 7734 | Uplink | games | -1 | Uplink | This is the best game I have every played. I'm so hooked on it! I'm going to order TODAY!!! | 2002-12-13 19:46:30 | 0 |
| 7735 | Pachi el marciano | games | -1 | Regeneration time | This is a great game: music and graphics are very competent, collision detection seems to be perfect. I give this a 4.5/5. My gripe: the regeneration speed of Pachi each time he is killed is a _little_ too slow. I realize this is part of the punishment of being killed, but it's a little irritating. Also I think the "pouring in" effect from the top of the screen is a little ugly. Great game though, very impressive. Brings back fond memories of gaming on my C64 FYI I installed the Linux version and had no problems getting it to build at all. | 2002-12-13 20:31:32 | 0 |
| 7736 | 3203 | news | -1 | Re: Looks good | Well, I like turn based strategy games, homm3 was good, but it's far too long, it would take me something like 6 months, if not more, to complete it... and thats without playing much of anything else.

My favorite turn based strategy game of all time is Advance Wars (GBA, released in 2001), the campagin wasnt too long, theres a LOT of replay value and the game is fun. I like a short campaign (20-30hrs) with a lot of custom maps better than a 200+ hours campaign and few custom maps (homm3).

---
Drakker | 2002-12-13 21:20:07 | 7719 |
| 7738 | 3208 | news | -1 | OMG! | Geez, I feel like I've been blindsided! Give me a minute to catch my breath. I didn't even see that coming. Goodness, I'm stunned. What a freaking surprise. | 2002-12-13 23:38:37 | 0 |
| 7739 | 3208 | news | -1 | Just hire a competent coder! |
Obviously
whoever's working on this port isn't worth the money Bioware is paying them. If they'd wise up and hand the project to someone like LGP or Ryan Gordon, we'd no doubt see a high quality beta version within a month's time.
Of course, by now Bioware probably doesn't care because they realize the situation can't possibly get any worse... They're the Linux gaming community's Ion Storm, and NWN for Linux is their Daikatana. | 2002-12-13 23:44:43 | 0 |
| 7740 | 3208 | news | -1 | ?? | So, they've been working on the Linux port since last spring and they're JUST NOW discovering that their audio library isn't portable??? I can't even find the words to express how sad that is. Did Bioware hire a gifted but inexperienced teenager to do the port? Every single status message from this person fairly screams "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING". | 2002-12-14 00:06:31 | 0 |
| 7741 | 3208 | news | 2 | YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE | The Neverwinter Nights Linux client port is a myth.
There is nothing more to see here. Move along. | 2002-12-14 00:09:10 | 0 |
