ScummVM games 2 Excellent work. I've been playing The Dig on my iBook (I know, I know. Don't tell anyone, ok?) with the CVS version for the past few weeks, and it's <i>perfect</i>. I finally found my Sam & Max CD, so that's up next. I can hardly wait. They've really done a great job with this engine. <p> I'll increase my rating to 5 stars when ScummVM gets Full Throttle support. 2002-12-06 22:14:33 0
ScummVM games -1 This is what free software is about This is a great project, one that no company would take up. Breathes life into these awesome games. Plus how cool is it to be able to play Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis on an iPaq. <center><img src="http://omega.uta.edu/~cpv7986/scumm01.jpg"></center> BTW, the iPaq is running Linux. 2002-12-06 22:44:02 0
OpenRPG games -1 Re: d20 support on the way? d20 is the name for WOTC's current generic[1] RPG system. Not just the name of the dice. [1] Generic used in a rather loose sense. 2002-12-07 00:25:09 6497

3184 news -1 I agree If they don't do a public beta, the initial release of NWN will be as much of a disaster as everything else related to the Linux port has been so far. It's obvious from the dev log messages that the developer is relatively inexperienced, so there are bound to be issues that he hasn't caught yet. Even ports by experienced development houses like Loki and LGP are buggy until a good-size group of beta testers have had a chance to expose all the problems. Bioware are setting themselves up for even more criticism if they decide to release the NWN client without a proper external beta period. 2002-12-07 10:26:36 0
3184 news -1 Re: I agree definitely....only reason I can venture a guess on is they're trying to do it all in-house and save face..stupid yeah and frankly I grow weary of waiting but what choice do we really have ;(..so till then i'll play what games I do have access to which actually are growing daily for linux it seems <G>..my current demo i'm trying is terminus.. ..also pontifex II sounds like alot of fun..and IF I get desperate I 'can' run NWN's in 'wine'..not winex but wine cuz NWN's is opengl.. ..yeah sound issues are due it looks like due to OPENAL use and fact OPENAL has 'looping' sound issues that are also affecting Pontifex II...go fig.. ..yes the dev. logs 'clearly' show inexperience..I'm utterly amazed we're getting this far frankly..<G>.. ..i'm also a bit miffed at the seeming jovialty of the dev's comments like its all a bit funny to him...that or his frustration is showing..either way I dont see it as good 'PR'....if they just gave us a 'bit' more info than the sloppy seconds we have now if not 'all' linux users would be okay with it... -==== 2002-12-07 10:57:30 7642
