| 7621 | Rocks 'n' Diamonds | games | 6456 | 5 stars from me | Arcade gameplay mixed with troublesome puzzles makes this game a big challenge. I can't play it anymore because it keeps beating me. It's a well behaved program too. | 2002-12-06 13:19:34 | 0 |
| 7622 | Doom Legacy | games | 6456 | pump action fun | GamesI've had online with Doom Legacy were fun but very laggy on my 56k modem. The split screen action works just like in Serious Sam. And the Windows version even fixed my sound card when other programs confused it! The only issue I've really had is the sky moves strangely if you look too high(kind of an old DOS version issue). | 2002-12-06 13:31:14 | 0 |
| 7623 | ZSNES (Linux version) | games | 6456 | I'm not a potty mouth! | Unlike Snes9x Zsnes has a built in GUI, and it works well(almost identical to the Windows version in fact). Plus the sound emulation improved in version 1.36(it's almost perfect in many cases). Nice program. | 2002-12-06 13:45:44 | 0 |

| 7627 | NetHack | games | 6456 | The RNG own me :- ( | This game has it's own Usenet discussion group and has been in development for something like 15 years. 5 stars from me. That said, I don't actually feel like playing it much. Here are a few reasons: 1. There is a sudden death element to this game. You really can die in a single turn for little apparent reason. 2. The monsters throughout the dungeon act like homing missiles and know exactly where to find you(it's called cheating folks!). 3. You can get killed by a kitten! Great game regardless. | 2002-12-06 16:00:08 | 0 |

| 7629 | Serious Sam: The First Encounter | games | 6651 | Serious Sam is Seriously Fun! | I installed and tested it on my Debian Woody system, a dual PII-450 with GeForce2MX. It seems to work fine. I played the first level through with no problems. Well worth it if you like first (or third) person shooters. Haven't tested multiplayer yet but it is a load of fun, playing in coop mode is more fun than single player for sure. | 2002-12-06 17:42:25 | 0 |
| 7630 | Virtual Jay Peak | games | -1 | The game rocks! | Very cool, very simmy. And free! The terrain is quite impressive. Plus the programmer is 'one of us': http://tulrich.com/rants.html | 2002-12-06 18:05:38 | 0 |
| 7631 | Serious Sam: The First Encounter | games | -1 | Re: serious spam | Maybe you didnt realise that the aim for serious sam was not to be original and ground breaking, but to be a FUN and addictive game?

Let me rephrase... Serious Sam doesnt pretend to be a revolutionnary title, it's a fun, fast paced arcade style shooter. And with the VERY good sales (low price helps), it proved that most people still want this kind of game.

Sometimes, you just want to frag stuff and dont care about a story or complicated mazes. Simple fun. | 2002-12-06 21:45:36 | 7598 |
