7539 3159 news -1 Repent, use UTC
Everyone should learn to tell times in UTC only, if automatic conversion to local time of the receiver is not expected. Transforming from UTC is trivial. I, for one, don't want to remember any more TLAs than necessary and learn some time zones used in the USA.
D*mn Yankees... 2002-12-03 03:48:47 0
7540 Free Fallin' Fred: Open His Chute Or He'll Be Dead games 6880 Re: hm.. As the author of this game, I feel I may have an idea as to why it was ported to Windows. The main reason is that it is free software. If I intentionally limit the game's portability, then I am in effect making it less free. Another reason is that their advice is just as good as someones who is running GNU/Linux. The poster is right, the game should not be using 100% CPU all the time. I am currently adding fixes so that the only time the game is using 100% CPU is when you are actually playing. If you are at a screen or have the game paused, CPU usage will be greatly decreased. Besides, I thought it was a really favorable review since the poster said it was interesting for about 5 minutes. I can't even play it that long :) This is my first game and I only released it because I want to use it to write a tutorial, and I want it running good if I'm going to do a tutorial with it. 2002-12-03 04:07:54 7532
7541 AKICHAN games -1 Censor Why do the webmasters of happypenguin.org partake in the drakonian act of censoring moral-originated replies to other comments of stereo-typical information? my post was censored in proted to that Win32 game of Gewt Nengritch being posted here and my post was removed (censored). Do I smell fascists? 2002-12-03 04:34:00 0
7542 FooBillard games -1 Compilation, ergonomy and game types Binaries run great on my debian, anyway it doesn't compile (undefined reference to some gl*NV functions). xlibmesa-dev-d 2002.10.17-1 DRI CVS mach64 version of Mesa 3D graphics l xlibmesa3-dri- 2002.10.17-1 DRI CVS mach64 version of Mesa 3D graphics l I remember an old ms-dos billiard where the que shot were directly controlled by the mouse, with several controls (ctrl, alt, shift...) the mouse controlled angle, point of strike on the ball, and then you move the mouse just as if you handled the que in you hand, it gave an amazing realism to the game. It would be great to have what is called "english billiard" in France (red and yellow balls in a triangle, each player get a color at the beginning) 2002-12-03 04:38:33 0
7543 AKICHAN games 2 Re: Censor Yep. We wear jackboots and everything here.
But seriously, what sort of idiot thinks a forum about video games is an appropriate place to post abortion photos? Don't answer. It's a rhetorical question. 2002-12-03 07:11:16 7541
7544 Unreal Tournament games -1 Linux UT with 3DFX Voodoo 3 GLIDE Please... Can anybody tell me how to get a 3DFX card to run Unreal Tournament in GLIDE RENDERING. I am relatively familiar with both Unreal and RedHat Linux distributions from 7.0 through 8.0. I prefer to run 7.3. The game runs well in GL, but I've got a 3dfx card and I WANT Glide. All I ever achieve is a "seg-fault" error while attempting to start UT. I've experimented extensively with the UnrealTournament.ini file, but to no avail. I don't know if this is a drivers issue, but every site in existence that once had Linux Glide drivers is dead today anyway. Ideas? Feel free to e-mail me af_christensen@hotmail.com (actually, that'd be even better than posting here.) 2002-12-03 07:37:19 0
