| 7436 | Tower Toppler | games | -1 | Re: A few remarks | Everything is prepared for music. I only need a piece. Preferable a music module.
I don't have a joystick, so I can not test this.
You can not take the up key because then it's ambiguous what you want to do if you stand on elevators or in front of a door.
Why do you prefere the C64 version? The retro feeling? Or...? I used the PC version as starting point. | 2002-11-24 22:24:21 | 7433 |
| 7437 | Tower Toppler | games | -1 | Re: Nice game | A few words to the passwords:

- there are only 8 towers. Take it like it's in some games where you get a password only after a few levels
- if you know what you do the 8 towers can be completed in something like 30 Minutes
- it's like it is in the original game
- I like it the way it is
- are there no hardcore gamer's left? What kind of cowards are you all. People in the 80s were able to do it and you aren't? :-)
- after all it's an arcade game and not a puzzle game. In most arcade games (I know) you get no password. If you die you have to start again
- it skrews up the highscore table
- if you are good in the first levels you can have lot's of lifes to experiment in later levels
That said. I won't write it but Pasi might have a look at the matter and I promise to include it. | 2002-11-24 22:37:33 | 7381 |

| 7444 | Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | Re: WineX 2.1.1 Full | One of the biggest objections people have to using Linux I find when I try to get them to try it is, "Well I would, but I can't do the things I do in Windows"

When I boil it down and explain that there is a competent Office suite (openoffice.org) Full Email, Web browsing and Text messaging the only thing they have left is games.

So if I can play my Windows games on Linux, it makes me happy that I don't have to switch from Linux to play them. But it also helps me to get other people who wouldn't normally think about it to try it. That's got to be a good thing. The performance issue is a minor one for me as I just upgraded my PC, I can play HalfLife, TA and GTA3 quite happily. But I like playing my UT2003 best (which came with a native port in the box, very happy).

It's just a means to an end. | 2002-11-25 10:16:21 | 7302 |
