| 7195 | Project: Starfighter | games | -1 | Nice game... a bit slow, though. | The game has some great potential! I also like the music. I'd suggest you try to make the ship move and react to user commands faster (a *lot* faster :-) ), as it is, it's crawling (at least on my computer, a 700MHz celeron).

Cheers, alex. | 2002-11-08 23:41:10 | 0 |
| 7196 | HackNet | games | -1 | But which is the real one? | Bizarre.. This must just be an obvious choice of name, as I've also been working on a multiplayer NetHack clone by the name of 'HackNet'.
My version is a cross-platform C++ project with a client-server architecture, aiming to be virtually identical to NetHack, but with a cleaner, object-oriented codebase, and with multiplayer functionality. Development derailed for a while when NetHack 3.4.0 was released, but has recently resumed. If interested, take a look at http://hacknet.sf.net/ | 2002-11-09 01:39:14 | 0 |
| 7197 | Bridge Construction Set | games | 5432 | Re: No Linux version | Yes, there is a link to the Linux version, but you need to enter an e-mail address & a user name, which is obviously assigned after you filled in the order form. If you follow the order link, though, it says "Linux - coming soon". I'm definitely not going to shell out US$ 29,95 only to find out afterwards that I can only download the Windows version.

Moreover, I want to see a working Linux demo first. Yes, I've seen the "11/07/2002 - Pontifex II for Linux available" on their home page, but the rest of their pages certainly don't look like it.

Don't get me wrong, I will buy Pontifex II when it's available - but until then, I'll just play some more Mutant Storm. 8-) | 2002-11-09 06:29:22 | 7187 |

| 7199 | Mutant Storm | games | 5432 | Yes, baby!!! 8-) | Just 3 words - THIS GAME ROCKS. Get the full version NOW! 8-)

If you liked Space Tripper, you will love Mutant Storm. You thought that Space Tripper had nice flashy graphics? Compared to Mutant Storm, it almost looks like an old black and white movie. Although arcade games are usually not quite my cup of tea, this one got me hooked from the get go, just like Space Tripper did back then.

I'm even thinking of getting myself a game pad now - any recommendations? The Saitek SP550 Pad & Stick Fusion looks interesting, as I also need something to replace my old Gravis analog joystick anyway. Opinions? Experiences? | 2002-11-09 06:49:31 | 0 |

| 7201 | Bridge Construction Set | games | -1 | Sounds good, but | Is there an opensource version deely like this. Sounds like a good Open source project to undertake for sure | 2002-11-09 11:53:02 | 0 |
| 7202 | Bridge Construction Set | games | 325 | Re: No Linux version | Wow, I'm convinved. A link to a page that says "Manual coming soon", and a link to a page that says "Linux version coming soon (3 days ago, in fact)". | 2002-11-09 12:01:41 | 7187 |
| 7203 | Bridge Construction Set | games | 325 | Re: No Linux version | The linux version doesn't seem to actually run, however. Has anyone actually got this to work? Mine just hangs after startup (it's doing a select over and over again). | 2002-11-09 15:11:07 | 7187 |
