Crack Attack! | games | 4553 | Using more cpu than it needs... | Good gameplay and graphics, but the Windows version uses 100% CPU time when you have the game window open, even when idle, even on a P4 1.6 gigahertz with a GF4MX. Does the linux version also take up a lot more cpu than it needs? | 2002-10-26 11:39:50 | 0
3031 | news | -1 | Re: What? | 99% of all peoples may have the same settings but what about the other 1%? What about peoples not running XFree86? What about mouses with 2 wheels or/and only 2 buttons? <P> You can always saw "We should'nt care about those peoples who are not using the standard" but isn't that why there are so little games on linux, freebds and other alternative OS? | 2002-10-26 12:23:23 | 6978
3031 | news | -1 | Re: What? | Um, no, "the standard" is the only way to do it. Same thing happens in windows; don't install/configure the mouse properly, it doesn't work, and there's nothing the game developers can do about it. XFree could provide a better means of supporting the wheel(s) or additional buttons, but it doesn't, and nothing in the NWN client is going to change that... Unless they decide to add in ancient hacks for detecting certain buttons as wheel events, which then screws anyone who has more than 3 buttons and legitimately wants to use them... | 2002-10-26 17:36:14 | 6985
Airstrike | games | -1 | scrolling screen | what would be great: a horizontally scrolling screen like in "sopwith", and battle tanks shooting, you have to bomb them. you'd also have to bomb some other things (take a look at the old dos game sopwith. it had crappy graphics compared to airstrike, but the scrolling screen and the extra action added extra fun | 2002-10-26 18:42:53 | 0

Cedega (WineX) | games | -1 | WineX 2.1.1 Full | I'm pretty happy with it, i got CS run @ 40fps, that's 5-10 less than in Windoze but i don't need to reboot :) with quake2 it's even perfect, i would say it's as fast as the windoze version. <marquee>cu</marquee> | 2002-10-27 02:36:30 | 0

Airstrike | games | 6489 | Re: scrolling screen | This is planned. We just want to have a working single-screen game running first. (Not that is is harder to do larger levels, but it's best to keep it simple in the beginning.) | 2002-10-27 07:07:04 | 6988
