| 6885 | D2X | games | -1 | Re: d2x installation | First, I Uninstalled the game as I used an rpm to install it. Then I compiled the game following your instructions. I copy all the *.pig files that I have from my CD as well as all of the descent2.* files. However, I am still missing alien1.pig, alien2.pig, fire.pig, ice.pig since there are not in my CD. Place all the file in the /usr/local/share/games/d2x/ directory and made world-readable, But still asking for the file descentb.pcx. Any ideas what this file is? and can I find it anywhere? | 2002-10-15 20:45:58 | 6820 |

| 6888 | Falling Block Game | games | 6453 | Cool | Very good game. Graphics are very polished and colorful. Having the dissapearing rows fade to tranparent is a nice touch. | 2002-10-16 03:01:59 | 0 |

I didn't write this just for fun :o).
You will need to make a Full-Install and copy the files from your Install-Folder to /usr/local/.... It won't work the way you tried it. Sorry.

-- Mucknert -- | 2002-10-16 07:25:02 | 6885 |

| 6891 | Cube | games | -1 | Re: Linux + Cube | Aside from the fact that you're using a Voodoo card (not trying to flame you for it, I used to use one myself :>), check to see if a sound daemon like artsd or esd is being used. I've found that in a number of cases artsd used to cause sound in a lot of different things (even XMMS) to lag by a noticeable amount, particularly in games..the audio would be almost entirely out of sync. | 2002-10-16 08:39:37 | 5922 |
| 6892 | TuxPuck | games | 4391 | Polished feel | Good game - the graphics especially are rather nice for a game like this; I wouldn't expect shufflepuck to have such good backgrounds. My only gripes are:

No randomness, at least as far as I could tell. If you bounce the puck directly ahead the computer will bounce it right back. I can just sit there and it'll bounce back and forth. Some unpredictability would be nice

Mind-numbingly difficult, but then again the computer's always had better reflexes than me. A difficulty slider would be a nice feature

These are minor gripes, though, all in all I enjoyed the game. Keep up the good work! | 2002-10-16 09:51:13 | 0 |
