Construo games 6494 Fun and intriguing <BR>Amazing! One of the most intriguing games I've ever played. And who says there's no point in it? <BR> <BR> Try building structures which are _bound_ to collapse under normal load, then use oscillating pieces - like letting a "rope" fall - and try to bring the whole thing down. What I like most of all is the exaggeration of the deformations and the stress color-coding. 15 minutes of playing provides a fun understanding of Mechanics. <BR> <BR> A nice feature (which might be a bug though): hit c to clear the screen, then place a knot somewhere, then hit c again. The place where you placed the knot will be fixed in place and thus placing another knot will result in a node that's hanging from that point. <BR> <BR> The idea of savegames in XML format gets a thumbs-up and the slow-mo feature (d) let's you act the right moment (try restricting a swinging node while it's painted red) and test the strength of the structure. <BR> <BR> Also, try connecting knots more than once, thus raising the rigidity. <BR><BR> Definitely five stars! <HR> <A HREF="http://n.ethz.ch/student/tisaak">http://n.ethz.ch/student/tisaak</A> 2002-09-30 05:23:06 0
Airstrike games -1 Good game The CD32 version of this game was amazing, absolutely loads of aircraft to fly. My heart missed a beat when I saw this posted. Good luck to them, all the best! I'm keeping an eye on this one! 2002-09-30 12:06:13 0
Airstrike games 6138 this is gonna rock! oh, man! I always loved clean simple playable multiplayer games... And Physics and graphics are nice, too! keep up the good work, please, this has the potential to become a hit, don't stop hacking. I'd help if I had time (and I won't until a couple of weeks), in the meantime, go on! 2002-09-30 12:38:56 0
XPilot games -1 Xpilot keeps its players hooked. I started playing xpilot in '95, and had a long break from '98 to 2001 due to lack of unix. When I logged in again, I noticed that most players were still playing. That sais someting about that the concept is right, and doesnt need fancy graphics to stay hot. How many people plays Doom I theise days!!??! Xpilot is simply a great game where skill (or sui) is everything. 2002-09-30 15:01:23 0
SalpWars games -1 FPS..sorta Maybe it is a first-person shooter after all. I mean, think about it.<br> <br> First of all, there's shooting. Right? And barfing and all that stuff, but you can shoot! So there's no arguing about the "shooter" part.<br> <br> Still, you don't see the game from the perspective of the mouse (the guy you play), so it's probably not first-person... UNLESS you're playing a God, who has innate control over one of (but none of the other) the mice! Yeah!<br> <br> Or maybe it's just a typo. I don't remember ever claiming that it's a FPS. :-)<br> <br> Tyler 2002-09-30 19:28:02 0
Airstrike games -1 Another in the genre - sopwith This reminds me of one of my favorite DOS games, <a href= "http://fraggle.despayre.org:81/stuffage/sopwith/">sopwith</a>. Airstrike already looks and moves like a worthy successor. I like the balloons, they suggest a game with lots of cute interations with annoying objects. Something like running into a duck, which gets wrapped around your propeller, drags down your airspeed (all while out-swearing Donald), and eventually gets loose to dizzily wander off. 2002-09-30 20:58:20 0
Airstrike games 4181 Would not run For me the static game wouldn't run. It popped up a window and then exited immediately. No visible error, and stracing it didn't really reveal anything to me. It looks fun though! 2002-10-01 01:47:39 0
Airstrike games -1 Re: Another in the genre - sopwith Yeah, ducks are a top priority! I'll add them as soon as someone contributes a Povray model. something like duck coming in -> ugly sound -> cloud of feathers -> feathers falls slowly to the ground (possibly: duck lives, but crash due to lack of feathers) Would be great. --Ulf 2002-10-01 02:23:54 6768
Airstrike games -1 Re: Would not run There was a bug with 24 bit displays, this has been fixed in version on the homepage. --Ulf 2002-10-01 02:25:02 6769
SalpWars games -1 Re: FPS..sorta In the c-64 days we had "shoot'em'up" games, could this be one of them? - Voice of Ambience - 2002-10-01 03:49:56 6767
