Vendetta | games | -1 | system reqs | nice to see a such nice game with so low system req's. Feels very smooth playing it. Almost as fun as BZflag. | 2002-09-18 05:27:59 | 0
FreeDroid | games | 5910 | Re: Comment on the new (RPG) version | Yes, this is a concern also raised before by some of our team, rp especially who most likely will bring out a polished version of the original game, perhaps enhanced with network-mulitplay capability as an option or someone else will do it. Alas, rp is currently not available to do any coding :(, but might be back at it again in a month. If you have some idea of C and if you also feel like it, you could well give it a try yourself. It's not complicated and there should be lots of documentation inside the code. See ya, jp. | 2002-09-18 07:47:48 | 6508
unreal tournament 2003 | games | -1 | Re: can i get it run with a Radeon 8500 | I LOVED my Radeon in WinX, but when I switched to Linux I had to give it up. nVidia is the only game in town for Linux. You could buy the XIG Accellerated Desktop for the Radeon. UT2003 works, but you'll not be able to run alot of older Linux games. Plus XIG is the price of a cheap nVidia card. Get a GF3. The image quality finally compares to ATI and everything runs perfectly. | 2002-09-18 09:17:02 | 6603
unreal tournament 2003 | games | -1 | Re: can i get it run with a Radeon 8500 | Kyro 2 cards work well under Linux (they have binary drivers), and they support S3TC. They are far from being powerful by today's standards, but will offer you GeForce 2 level performance. Unfortunately, UT2003 for Linux was pretty much built around nVidia cards, so PowerVR cards don't work with the game. Apparently, this will be fixed in the next driver release. | 2002-09-18 10:05:54 | 6616

unreal tournament 2003 | games | -1 | Re: can i get it run with a Radeon 8500 | Well, the Kyro drivers are kick ass and support the texture compresion, but its another bug that prevent UT2003 from running. though both epic and powervr said they will work together to make sure the kyro drivers are up to par before the release of ut2003. | 2002-09-18 16:46:00 | 6618
Unreal Tournament 2003 | games | -1 | gentoo live | has anyone else tried the gentoo live cd w/ ut2003 demo on it? i did...but ut2003 crashes whenever i run it. i have a gf2/mx400 and a k6 550 which i know the the processor is under sys reqs but i read somewhere a guy got it to run on a celeron 333 w/ a gf4ti. | 2002-09-18 17:36:41 | 0
