The included Makefile.config.FreeBSD should work without modifications. You need the GNU make and EGCS ports, though.
Demo record/play! You can record a demo of yourself playing a game with the '-d DEMONAME' switch, i.e. "dgen -d foo.demo my_rom.smd". Then play it back later with "dgen -D foo.demo my_rom.smd". Also, no verifaction checks are done on the demos, so you can feed it arbitrary files and see what happens, if you like. :)
DGen/SDL 1.18 updated

562 2 1999-08-13 09:25:25 The WorldForge Project is releasing a skeletal prototype client/server for its GPL'd, OpenContent massively multiplayer online roleplaying game system, to demo what we're up to. WF germinated via Slashdot 10 months ago (initially as "Altima"), and is returning to show off a bit. See our 2D and 3D client screenshots. The website is packed with info, so be sure to browse around and, of course, check out the FAQ! We'd love some positive feedback and of course, any skilled musicians, artists, technical writers, or programmers who'd like to join in on the fun.
Thanks, Bryce Harrington.
Update: D'oh! 563 2 1999-08-13 14:03:02 More stuff I found while avoiding work this morning:

Over at the Loki Portal Page, Revie has posted some speculation about Loki's next game port:

I've heard from a couple of people attending the Linux Expo that after Myth 2, Railroad Tycoon, and Heretic come out, the next possible port could possibly be Heavy Gear 2.
Keep in mind that this is a totally unsubstantiated rumor. But wouldn't Linux-powered mechs be cool?
Our pals at Linuxgames.com have posted a brief interview with the fellow responsible for the Linux port of the upcoming Unreal Tournament.
This isn't game-related at all, but it's nifty anyway, so I thought I'd share: The first development release of Objective Reality's 3D user interface for Linux has been released. There's a time-limited demo available for download now. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet it's a fun toy.
Some more quickies default
