<a href="mailto:redpingu@caramail.com">BLuPiNGu</a> has announced a new project, <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures/download_fr.html">#demofr Creatures</a>. I presume the unusual name comes from the IRC channel that the game was born in. BLuPiNGu describes the game like this:
<blockquote><i>In #demofr creatures, you give orders
to your monsters, but as they are a
bit stupid, they won't do exactly what
did tell them. #demofr creatures can be
played over a tcp/ip network. The game
is fully skinnable, i think about adding
mod support, there is no sound support
yet but it will come. Yet there is only
the mapeditor and a previous version of
the server, but it is to make the
source available to whoever wants to
help.
</i></blockquote>
<a href="/images/creatures.gif"><img src="/images/thumbs/creatures.gif" align=right width=200 height=123></a>
If you read French, you can find out more about the game <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures">here</a>. If you read C, the source is available <a href="http://rocloiso.planet-d.net/creatures/download_fr.html">here</a>.

Perhaps you've noticed a slowdown on news and database updates around these parts lately. My apologies. Your humble host (that's me) is currently overwhelmed by Real Life responsibilities, and finds it difficult to make time for daily Game Tome maintenance. I expect this to continue for another week or two, until I finish an awful deathmarch of a project at work.
<p>
I'll continue to post stuff that's submitted to me, but anything that isn't right in my face will probably get missed. As always, you can email me newsworthy items to ensure I see them.
<p>
Soon the pain will end and lots of happypenguin loving will be coming your way. The Man can't keep me down for long!
