| 5709 | Enigma | games | 5693 | Marvellous | I loved those old marble-rolling puzzle games such as Oxyd, Spindizzy, Marble Madness, Bobby Bearing, etc. This is an excellent example of the genre. Despite being under pretty heavy development it is already an enjoyable and challenging game with a lot of good levels. And there are many improvements to look forward to. | 5712 | FreeDroid | games | 5693 | Great version of a classic game |
Aaaahhhhh... this brings back happy memories. Freedroid is a very close copy of an all-time classic of the 8-bit era. It replicates the features of the original brilliantly, but this is also it's downfall. The gameplay is pretty repetetive and so becomes boring after a while, and by today's standards the graphics are very primitive. Even in the 80s the graphics were improved when Paradroid was rewritten for the ZX Spectrum as Quazatron.

The authors have added some new features -- some good, some less so. The text comments "spoken" by the droids get annoying and detract from the atmosphere of the game. The new mission objectives on the authors' own levels are good, and make those levels more interesting to play. The level editor is a great addition.
| 2002-06-11 11:49:53 | 0 |

| 5714 | 2577 | news | -1 | Bioware's Sense of Time | Well, you wonder what shortly means? Let me give you a hint - Bioware announced in April that they would be doing a beta in May. As of today (middle of June) the Beta hasn't been officially announced as started. However, I presume that they did the Beta secretly, after they had like 40 thousand people signed up for the Beta, and just never told the rest of us that the Beta had started and we weren't picked. I say that I presume they went ahead and did the Beta, because it would be highly strange for a game to go Gold before ever even going through beta. Bioware seems to be full of half-truths when it comes to NWN, as witnessed by the fact that the Mac/Linux clients won't ship on the CD. | 2002-06-11 18:12:27 | 0 |
| 5715 | 2577 | news | -1 | But are you surprised? | Announcing a Linux version makes good early press hype. Following through is far less important. | 2002-06-11 18:12:33 | 0 |

| 5717 | 2577 | news | -1 | Actually... my question is.... | Are they going to allow for a *free* download of the linux client if you purchase the Winders version... or ship it in its own box... | 2002-06-11 19:07:46 | 0 |
