Gem Drop X | games | -1 | Level selection | As explained in README.txt, use the [L] key to select the starting level. Tsk tsk! RTFM! :) | 2002-06-03 14:37:55 | 0
SDLInvaders | games | 679 | Graphics | I can't test it right now (I'm at work), but it looks good. Some enhanced graphics might be nice... perhaps some raytraced aliens to go along with the great-looking background. (Try PovRay, perhaps?) | 2002-06-03 15:16:05 | 0
Mobility | games | 6003 | top quality game | Totally professional UI (as easy as sc3000, but not as easy as sc2000), graphics, and gameplay. Building a city from scratch is quite easy to pick up thanks to the good UI. This is a traffic simulation, and the game focuses on building traffic infrastructure and public transport, with less focus on other aspects of a city simulation. Since it is so focused on this one aspect it is not quite as fun as sc2k/3k, but the more detailed/realistic traffic model is something I would want to see in a future Sim City game (I doubt sc4k will have this, as sc3k was not much of an improvement over sc2k). Besides the fun-factor not being up to par with sc2k, another dissapointment is that the registration for the full version ($10) is still not available (as of 6/2002)! But NOTE: you can get around the lack of a Save option by copying the autosave files (which seem to be updated evertime the game reminds you to register) into your own files: [[ cd ~/.mobility/SaveGame ; cp AUTOSAVE.GMD FOO1.GMD ; cp AUTOSAVE.GMM FOO1.GMM ; ]] Therefore the crippled version is still quite playable. Still, I hope the registration site would work. | 2002-06-03 16:01:54 | 0
Mobility | games | 6003 | Re: Mobility | > Now, paying isn't bad, I don't mind paying, I pay for software all the time. But the fact that you only pay for the Linux version is compleatly unacceptable. --- well Jon, life is just so damn unfair. Come on, $10 for a nice game is very very reasonable. Sometimes the Linux versions are free and Winblows versions aren't; and I guess it can be the other way around too sometimes. I agree it is slightly annoying, but about $10 I won't throw a fit. (Maybe for $20, or $40 I would.) | 2002-06-03 16:07:43 | 3905
NetWalk | games | 5690 | BlueLine | I remember a DOS game called BlueLine which was similar to this, but had the constraint that you had a cursor which could only move through the connections you already made. Nice game, only the gfx could use some gimp ;) | 2002-06-04 01:33:25 | 0

Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns | games | 4 | great game | I was a beta-tester on this game and liked it very much. I hope the expansion will also be ported. | 2002-06-04 14:24:01 | 0
NetWalk | games | 21 | Excellent | It's like strategy pipedream-ish twist. I never liked the timing part of pipedream. Great job. Only thing is that it needs a better idle loop. It uses up all my cpu just sitting there. Gameplay is perfect and addictive. | 2002-06-04 15:01:44 | 0
