The games can be made with the editor in Windows, or using the wxEditor for linux that is still in beta. The windows version of Sphere supports different graphics drivers such as OpenGL, GDI, or DirectX. For Linux, it uses SDL and supports a few minor settings. Sphere has been developed for years, to be precise, since 1997. The source code has since grown to 253 830 lines in over 1000 files (243 lines per file avg. if you're a nerd), and the main author (Chad Austin) has also written 2 additional libraries from scratch that have been embedded in Sphere.
