445 2 1999-07-06 15:22:58 There sure have been a lot of articles about Linux gaming popping up recently. Here's three more:

CNet has posted a Linux starter kit. It's a list of 20 apps that they consider essential. 4 of them are games. Saw this a linuxgames.com.
There's a good article about game programming and free software and whether they mix well at LinuxToday.
Finally, CNN Interactive is running an overview of the state of Linux games. Spotted this one on the LDGC mailing list.
The articles just keep coming default
446 2 1999-07-07 10:57:44 Category: Game-related Utility
Description: This is a server-only port of the 3D-shooter game Kingpin. Says Fyan Feltrin, of Xatrix Entertainment:
The Linux Kingpin dedicated server is now available.
This is considered a BETA release, although it may not be marked as such, we have only tested it for about 16 hours on a half-dozen servers.
There are currently two packages available.
Dedicated server PACK. This includes all maps and player models required to run a dedicated server only. (10.5mb)
Intel386 Linux glibc 2.0.7 binaries.(0.5mb)
Make sure to read the kp_linux_readme.txt for installation and usage notes.
Please report any bugs to me asap. I'm new to Linux development, so be as informative as possible with any reports.
As with the Half-Life server, I'm underwhelmed by this release. Give us something we can play guys. I'm not exactly messing my pants over the opportunity to dedicate my server's cycles to a game that I can't play myself... Kingpin dedicated server new

We'll be releasing demo and retail versions of Redhat 6 (glibc2.1) binaries sometime next week.
