Remember, tonight at 8PM Central (1AM GMT) The Linux Show will interview Loki Software luminaries Scott Draeker, Sam Latinga, Michael Vance and Kathryn Sorhaindo, live. You'll have the opportunity to ask them questions via phone (1-888-591-8324) or IRC (irc.pinnatel.com:6665, #linuxshow). Don't miss it. It oughtta be a good show. (And live questioning ought to help us determine just how sophisticated this "Scott Draeker" AI really is) |

Linux Journal, everyone's favorite paper source for Linux information, has a short article about Linux gaming at their website. Author David Penn talks about the relationship between Linux and the gaming industry, quotes folks like Scott Draeker, Dave Taylor and Graeme Devine, and generally paints a rosy picture for Linux and its future as a commercial gaming platform. Although from reading this article you'd never know that open source games exist, and vastly outnumber their commercial brethren, it's worth a read anyway. |

Description: Pingus is a Lemmings-like game for Linux.

Ingo Ruhnke sent this message to the Pingus mailing list:

I uploaded the Pingus version which I used/edited at the LinuxTag, a
Linux event in Germany. It contains three special levels, some bug
fixes and tweaks over version 0.1.0.

It can be downloaded at:
http://dark.x.dtu.dk/~grumbel/pingus/pingus-LinuxTag.Special.Edition.tar.gz

I have commited all bug fixes and improvements to CVS, without the
special levels, I'll try to seperate them in an extra file, but that
can take some time.

I saw at Linxugames.com that LinuxWorld.com is running two pieces on Linux games. The first is a review of Civilization:Call To Power and the other is a more general article about Linux gaming. I haven't had a chance to read these myself yet, but I love you all too much not to share them with you.
Update: Now both URLs are correct. Sorry! |
