406 2 1999-06-22 10:12:19 There's a news story at LinuxQuake.com reporting that Heretic II is being ported to Linux. Apparently a free server-only port will made available sometime soon, and sometime later, a third party will release a commercial port of the client. Kudos to Raven for simply producing a Linux server and then ignoring the client! Heretic II client port? default

If this game turns out to be half as good as the screenshots make it look, we're in for some serious multiplayer dogfightin' goodness. Is anyone going to LinuxTag '99 in Kaiserslautern, Germany? It sounds like the Parsec developers are going to be pimping their wares there. 408 2 1999-06-22 11:43:13 I saw at Linuxgames.com that there's an interview with Loki president Scott Draeker at Next Generation Online, covering the usual topics: Loki's history and the viability of Linux as a gaming platform. But it's more mainstream press attention...
Man, Mr. Draeker sure gets around! I suspect "Scott Draeker" is actually an AI created by Loki's Black Ops division. There are just too many interviews with this guy lately for him to be a single person. Yet another Scott Draeker interview default

414 -1 1999-06-24 20:54:55 Category: Role Playing
Description: Doomdark's Revenge was the sequel to Lords of Midnight was an epic adventure game written by Mike Singleton for the ZX Spectrum microcomputer (amongst others) in the early 1980's. With even more locations (6144) and views (49, 152) than its predecessor, and a massive 128 characters from 8 races to recruit from and battle, Doomdark's Revenge is still extremely playable, highly addictive and exhibits surprisingly passable graphics.
The package includes dexe's of both the original ports and a patched versions with support for numeric-pad based movement, a movement-related bugfix, and two alternative scenarios by Jan Kapala. Assembler source is also available through Chris Wild's site at http://www.anam.demon.co.uk if anyone is interested in doing a true port. To date they have only been tested under Linux Dosemu version 0.98.x. Doomdark's Revenge 1.8.1 new
